forced induction is forced induction when it comes to safety. It doesn't matter how you add the air, what matters is how you add the fuel and ignition.

I called VORTECH and they said their GSR kit is coming out anytime within the next couple of months. In about 3-4 months after the GSR kit comes out, a Type R kit will be available.

I see no real reason why the Vortech Si kit could not be slightly modified to work with a GSR, the setup is almost exactly the same except for the placement of the intake manifold etc. If there is a big difference, please enlighten me

I personally do not think the centrifugal chargers are all that great of an idea; you make half the boost at 4k rpm as you do at 8k rpm! Not a great plan in my opinion.

Either way, boost is boost to an engine as VaporTrail says. JRSC is no more reliable than a turbo setup @ 6psi. changing the boost with a turbo setup is just more tempting, and you must be more meticulous with installation. Once installed properly, reliablity should be entirely equal.

I don't think there's a way in the world the vortech could be considered "safer" than a turbo. It is identical except for the way the compressor wheel is powered, so that it actually builds boost slower than a turbo, which is usually peoples' biggest complaint about turbos... I just don't see the logic in spending more for a setup that gives you much less room for increasing power in the future. Oh yeah, and the speeds involved in the gearboxes used to spin that compressor up to speed just make me CRINGE.
