vitara piston rings 2nd ring, should the nouch be facing up dwn?

i noticed that the 2nd rings of my vitara pistons has a nouch. and is not flat,

i need to know if the nouch should face up or down?

I have never used vitara's but anytime I have ever installed rings the notch is always up

well, iv been told different about the second ring, (not shure about the first ring)

it should face down,
