viper_boy403's 97 Prelude build
This project has been years in the making, as I blew the stock engine after three years on a small setup (260whp) two years ago. The time since has been spent saving money and buying parts. As of right now, the car IS running but not tuned. I figured I would share my build with the gang in here and get some input on everything. Enjoy!
Car: 97 Prelude base model
Goal: 400whp, while keeping all accessories: AC, PS, CC
Block:
H22A1
GE HD sleeved, 89mm bore
CP 9:1 pistons
Eagle rods
WPC-treated ACL bearings
ARP head and main studs
KS balance shaft delete kit
Head:
Supertech flat-faced valves (+.2 comp)
DPR inner/OEM outer valve springs
DPR titanium retainers
Type-S cams
Fidanza cam gears
Skunk2 Pro intake manifold
ID 1000cc injectors
Aeromotive FPR
Turbo:
Precision 3431e .63 a/r exhaust
SFP tubular manifold
GO-Autoworks intercooler
TiAL BOV + MVR wastegate
Transmission:
Synchrotech carbon synchros
Quaife ATB differential
Competition Clutch twin disc
ECU:
P28 w/ Neptune RTP
ECU-controlled boost
New vs old!
WPC treatment is amazing! Couldn't be run by a nicer guy.
Push-to-lock vacuum fittings for everything
The brains of the operation:
In the car!
As it currently sits:
Plenty of work left to do, but it runs and drives! Quite nicely I might add. Getting it tuned by Jei Chang at Blacktrax, hopefully in the next month or two.
Any input or comments are welcome!
