Default Vid of our Supra with its new setup......sorry if off topic, but you'll enjoy Im sure!

Last weekend we did the best conversion a high hp street supra could possibly do. Swapped out the factory 6speed for a built GM TH400 trans. Its running a 4400 rpm stall converter as well. Trans has reversme manual valve body with a trans brake (look for that part of the video towards the end).
Video is on the shitty bling-bling wheels which are 20's in rear with P-Zero rubber. Boost is on wastegate spring at 17 psi. Greddy T78 kit has recently been swapped out for a BL71 kit with anti-surge housing.
ENJOY!

I have the same tranny in my car and it rocks Trans brake eh, so I take it the owners not running in any sanctioned events? Can I ask who did the gearing?

Well, its actually needed to be able to use reverse. Im no GM auto trans specialist (manual trans different story) but for some reason with the valve body it needs the trans brake to get reverse to engage. It can be done with a switch off the shifter but we didnt put that in yet
Yes the car will be at some events. We need to see how far we can get at t&t nights cause theres a bunch more we need to do to ready it for the times we think it should run.
This is a Boost Logic kit. Go to the thread in the supraforums for more info, as this is my buddy's car and not mine.

I'm seriously not one of those guys that says, don't be racing on the streets (while shaking finger). But I have to ask, could you guys not have found a better place to open'er up.

I work in the ER, it's amazing what trees can do to ya.

Have fun, be safe, and in the mean time find some traction

I guess I'll be the one to say.....I wasnt in the car at the time of shooting
Actually, they couldnt find a better place to shoot. It was the only road with no one else on it in the area.
Im no tree hugger and never plan on being one
Traction comes around when we bolt on the ET Streets we have sitting at the store

Just out of curosity, how much money do you have tied up in the transmission? I wondering if it's finacially feasble at this point to build an automatic. I'm facing a similiar situation, where I don't know if I should get a built TH-400 or stick with the 5 speed. Running it on an inline six but not a supra. That certainly did lean me towards the TH-400 a good bit though, looks awesome. Thanks,
Matt

Unless your pushing over like 650 hp at the wheels then its its not really necessary unless your trans is weak. Even a TH350 is overkill, a 400 is the macdaddy of built GM auto's.
The trans conversion is A LOT. Not sure of the exact numbers but easily over $5k after trans cooler and all the lines/fittings. Thats just for the kit. Trans brake is extra as well. Then you'll need installation.
This is all for The 2JZ's of course. From the looks of it you have a Nissan. This kit AFAIK isnt available, but not saying its not possible to do. You would need a custom adapter plate made along with driveshaft, floor board possibly too.

Thanks for the information, yea it's for a rb25det. The entire adapter setup is about $1100, plus the price of the transmission build. I'm just trying to look at all the options right now and figure out what would be best. Thanks for the insight,
Matt

He is out now ripping up his ET Streets and dialing in the HKS coilovers. He was hoping to get to the track today, but time didnt allow.
