The Kami/Carsound combo made a nice difference on my car...Id recommend it. It'd be nice if you could get some work done on the header to clean it up a bit before you install it as well.

As for the other question...Hondata Made it ridiculously smoother, like factory boosted. Really, really cool.

DO that at your OWN RISK... Hondata has base maps for every application(almost) Plug one in and make the trip to get it tuned. Well, well, well worth it!
Did i mention i like hondata?

If you are scared of a soldering iron send a donor ECU to the nearest Hondata dealer or to Hondata themselves. When I bought my first Hondata 3 years ago I actually sent the ECU back to the US so Doug could do some tinkering since I was the first JDM P72 user.

If you want headache free, worry free smooth operation then get the Hondata. You have to keep in mind that TUNING is the key to happiness and long engine life with the JRSC.

The VAFC offers no way to manage timing which will lead to detonation or substantial loss of power.

The Hondata will allow you to:
1) put in larger injectors (stock injectors are maxed out at the stock boost level)
2) have full control of fuel tables
3) have full control over timing tables
4) add boost tables for both timing and fuel
5) have full control over vtec engagement and (both rpm and MAP dependant)
6) ability to add nitrous for additional gains (controled by Hondata)

By the time you try to get the same ability to control everything with other bandaids, you will have spent alot more time and will have a rats nest of wires connected to your ecu. I've been there and done that, and I won't do it again.

Trust what all these guys are saying, get a Hondata S100 or s200, or any Hondata for that matter, then , the most important part, have it tuned correctly, you will absolutely love it...

The car will run like it was meant to run, just like a dream...

How much boost are you running, and what year is your car? Hondata only works with OBDI. If you have a newer car with OBDII then you will have to get a new ECU and wiring harness to convert to OBDI. This makes the hondata very expensive. I agree that hondata is better than VAFC, but if you are just running 5 or 6 psi boost then your car will run fine with the VAFC plus the jackson racing Boost Timing Controller. In my opinion Hondata is not worth the money unless you are running higher boost. If money is no object then go hondata.

As for the header get the Kamikaze. Be sure to get the one with the 2.5" collector.

OBDII gets too much of a bad rep. I'm running 9 psi on an H22 with a JRSC and EFI PMS. The PMS along with my stock OBDII computer has been a fine combination. Off boost the car runs like stock, under boost it is a monster.

Is there anyway I can modify the Kamikaze header? I got one free from a friend of mine, but i think the collector is only 2'inches... and how should i clean up the header? do you mean the internal welds?

IMO, get the JDM DC 4-1 header heat wrapped. definately Hondata, doesn't matter which one, but get one. even with stock boost (5-6 psi), it wouldn't hurt. plus, you'd get a lil' more WHP. again, this is IMO.

I've got the JDM DC SS 4-1 header and with a TechEdge and EMS to tune my car. I should be finished tuning this thing on my own with a help of few EMS users and the EMS will be using it's n2o controls to properly feed the shot of n20 into the SC.
