vaccum connection on MSD BTM

Default vaccum connection on MSD BTM

When I connect the timing control to the MSD BTM my car won't start. Is it because I don't have a vaccum going from my intake manifold to it?

are you saying if you disconnect the hose that it starts?

i haven't tried to connect the hose yet. i was just wondering if that is normal
