Upgraded Fuep Pump and Injectors necessary??
I have a 1992 DX with the stock engine at 142k miles. I have a greddy turbo kit with front mount intercooler on it right now with 5psi. I am using a "missing link" bypass valve on the stock map sensor with a Vortech 12:1 FMU to manage fuel. Other than straight 2.5in piping from the down-pipe back I have no other performance mods. I should also note that on this set-up the car seems perfectly happy and runs very well!
My question:
I am going to take off the Vortech 12:1 FMU and "missing link" bypass (check valve) and have the car properly dyno-tuned with Hondata by a reputable shop... With this being said, if I up the boost 3psi, to 8psi on this set-up with a professional hondata dynotune will I really need bigger injectors and a higher rate fuel pump?
After this, I don't intend on ever going for more power for a very long time.
Thanks in advance!

the fmu takes place of bigger injectors and a bigger pump so taking that away and your boosting with less fuel then wth the fmu there. your tuner better be a magician cause that will be magic if your motor doesn't blow after 1 dyno pull with stock injectors and pump with a 142k on it. just get some dsm injectors and a 255 pump and tune it and it will run happier.

Yeah, your gonna need a new injectors pretty much for sure, and I'd do a new fuel pump. I'm not sure if you HAVE to have a new pump, but it's deffinatly a good idea. A new fuel pump is like 100 bucks. Might as well. Get some 550cc injectors and call it a day.

I was under the assumption that hondata and tuning will act as a more sophisticated way of managing the air and fuel. Does hondata + tuning not controll air and fuel?
So if I KEEP the Vortech 12:1 FMU AND do tuning with Hondata... are the new injectors needed?
I'll just replace the fuel pump for the time being.

i would get rid of the fmu, running higher boost puts alot of fuel psi through stock injectors and fp regulator and demands alot from the stock pump. hondata will give u more room to play with, but definitely not enough when talking n/a fuel setup to turbo. you can pick up a set of dsm injectors cheap under 100 dollars, and a walbro is under a 100 as well.

So I ordered the 255 lph fuel pump a moment ago. Where can I get the injectors and what should I look for?
PS: Thanks for the assistance
