UBERDATA: b20a engine: LS stock w/5% more fuel and 2 degree retard overall decent base - suggestio
I have been trying to get the fuel and timing from a JDM obd0 b20a bin, no editor wants to open it - so I am trying to educate myself on how to get the maps out manually ( noob)
But my real question is, will a b18b map with 5% more fuel and 2 degree retard be a decent base for this engine. Any suggestions welcome. TIA.

yes, I just meant a b18b map (p75 code) with the mods I mentioned above. I just wanted to copy the maps over from the other bin. The car will be using an obd1 ecu with uberdata. I tried every editor I could find but from reading this:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by sean »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">is this a vacum distributor bin ? if so your sadly out of luck. no one supports these ECM's. switching to an obdo ecm ike a pm6 pm7 and tunning from there would be much smarter. i also doubt that the motorola 6803 code maps will run in a 8051 based ecm. different math routine etc would make it impossiable to cut and paste.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I guess fine tuning the b18b maps will have to do. The reasoning I used for the timing (seeing how I do not have much tuning under my belt) is a b18 has less timing than a b16, so I figure a b20 would have less than a b18. I guess it wouldn't hurt - and 5% seemed like plenty of fuel since the b18 and b16 were very close, I figured the b20 wouldn't need a huge amount more. What do you think?

Something is wrong with that .bin file. It's only 1/2 the size it should be. Bin files should be around 32KB's.
You shouldn't have to retard the timing for a b20 compared to a b18b. The timing should stay the same. Here is a B20 .bin I have, take a look at it and see what you think. The fuel should be really close.
B20bin:
Stock Fuel
Stock Ignition
7000rpm Redline
4000rpm FTL
Warm Idle: 750rpm Cold Idle: 1400rpm Moving Idle: 920rpm
Knock Sensor - OFF
All Other Sensors - ON
http://www.sentimentalstitches.net/binfiles/
Let me know how that compares to what you were thinking.

What ecu is that bin from? It opens in uberdata fine.
The timing seems identical to a b18b (at the points I checked) and the fuel is very close (slightly more in most areas). Thanks a lot, I think that is exactly what I need
Did you import the maps into p7x code, or is there a car with a p7x ecu and a b20 stock?
I just need to disable the rest of the sensors, or put the maps into a jdm bin (for an edm ecu).
Thanks

It's a stock B18B map that i had from uberdata. I used crome to change the fuel from 1.8 to 2.0 then saved it again. Then I went into good old uberdata and changed all the stuff I needed. I didn't know which sensors you wanted on or off so i just left them on.

it's one of the few nice things about crome. i don't like using the program, but it has this feature where you put in what size motor you have and what size motor you want the fuel to be changed to. so in this case 1.8 to 2.0. and it changes the fuel accordingly. i didn't check to see what percentage it uped the fuel though.

Re: (toxicshit)
I didn't know crome had that function either. I wonder what % it changes the fuel by? Does it only change the fuel? I am just wondering what would happen if I put a b16a2 map in there and told it to make it 1.8. Since the b16 has more timing than the b18 (but it is about the same so I guess it doesn't matter).
Toxicshit, good luck and let us know how it goes!

Re: (slashDEVslashNULL)
I didn't know you were going to use it on a B20A motor....let me know how it works. It's actually made for a B20B/Z. I double checked and it added 3% more fuel when going from 1.8 to 2.0. Give it a try and see how it work. Good Luck!!!

Re: (TinyCRX)
thnx ill let you both know how it will go.
but it will take a while... i fist have to do some other things to the car, but now i can sleep again, knowing that i have a bin that could work.. ( that was one my main problems )
HT Rules !!

Yes, I was also going to comment... the B20A engine is the old Prelude Si 2.0 motor. The 'bastard b'. It's not a true b-series and the code is not true b-series code. That's why it's not opening fine.

Really? I tried it and it won't bring anything up - maybe the file I have is corrupted.

only because i made that map for a b20/b20z. i don't know much about the b20a, hopefully the fuel/ign will be pretty close.

Not for OBD0, 16k is reasonable.
