Mine got jacked in the Army. I was on an Abrahms tank and NOTHING about that vehicle is forgiving. As a loader, your knees AND shoulders take a pounding. Lol! Not to mention the gym time.. That was partially my fault there.. I'd go twice a day, 1.5 hours each session, followed by a 4 mile run after each, 6 days a week.. Did this for 5 years.

Ok so.. If I'm reading this right, I will have an efficient boost range of **approximately** 16-30 psi, and for 450hp I should be about 22psi? Or did I fall on my face interpreting this?

Simple-fied by conversions

Of course, this is a vague generalization. But you get the drift.

I'm fixing to start wading into deeper waters and touch up on the physics of boost. Something tells me I'm in for a ride here. I'll have some downtime to eat up very soon. First surgery in a week. Sigh.. I'll have to go easy on the pain killers if I want any info to really stick. Lol!

You should be thankful you didn't have to replace a "month old" oil pump like me yesterday. Take your time on your setup. Race War isn't until next month. LOL

Nah...I ported and shimmed that pump so likely no. lol

New one, I left it alone. Was looking into Melling brand but bought a new Genuine Honda one on eBay. It was only $30 more, which wasn't too bad. Ordered Thursday and showed up late Saturday afternoon.

After I was done with the replacement, I removed the cover of the old pump and noticed scarring on the two gears. Like the gears were sliding around inside that area and eventually got jammed.

I went with a Melling pump on my Z6 - it doesn't sit 100% flush with the bottom of the block, and I think it's causing my oil pan gasket to leak. I may be replacing it with OEM soon.

The Melling pump I went with on my wife's Accord fit great and is working well.

When it comes to a oil pump.... it’s OEM all the way, I used a Gates water pump since that’s who makes the ones for Honda from what I’ve learned but all o-rings or internal seals are OEM for sure. Then I used Clevite race bearings

Gates does NOT make OEM belts or oil pumps.. Those are made by Mitsusita or Toyoda Gosei. Bearings are by Taito/Daido. Brakes by Nissin.

I went back with the factory Yamada oil pump. The previous pump was a Yamada as well, brand new when I first installed it a few months ago.

I don't like using non-factory pumps on Hondas because they usually don't fit. Misaligned mounting holes or casting is not even same shape.

my mistake on that then, I was thinking Gates made the OEM water pump , Iím scared to run anything other than OEM bought from Honda on the oil pump. Only thing not OEM was my Gates water pump, JE Pro seal head gasket and the oil pan /valve cover gasket,
