Re: (igo4bmx)
its fun to have a honda that fast, so many posers around. it seems like everyone wants to show you how slow your car really is.... then when you burn them they look real stupid.

Yup... fewer people pick races with guys in Vipers than me in my modded Honda I am willing to bet

heheh...thats what you say now...
Once you add up the costs of the standalone, drivetrain mods, and supporting engine mods, it will be like you just turbo'd 2 hondas.

Guy I know is building a mustang with a 308. It's not as cheap as you think. 8 rods, 8 pistons, block, crank, 2 heads, manifold, throttle body, 8 injectors, standalone, 2 manifolds and crossover pipe, PT91, water to air, plus tank, plus lines, all fuel plumbing and huge fuel pump, 7" air filter, 5" downpipe, etc.. but Precision expects him to make 1000rwhp between 14 and 16psi.

Re: twin turbo mustang @6psi 600rwhp!! (HXMan)
turbos are not cheap for V8's. also if you get a mustang, all of their tranny's are weak as **** and fall apart around 500hp. Even the older cobra's tranny sucks. 03 and up tranny's for the cobras are stronger but the GT's are still weak.

wrong.. wrong .. wrong..
mutangs T-5 manual tranny is made for ~260 ft tq.
it's the weakest link in the drivetrain, so is the rear end.
$1.6k for a nice tranny, and i forgot about the rear end.
$1.6k is for about 600ft tq. u can get cheaper automatic transmission called the C4.
AOD or automatics, are good because it loads torque at start. but u got to change it out with manual valve bodys, works great. (allows u shift auto like manual)
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Fuzion »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">they are cheap as ****....1100 for rods/pistons/crank balnced and all.......i think im sold..lol..dont hate me ...i still got a civic.....LOL</TD></TR></TABLE>
piston rods? all will go to waste. trust me. stock block can't handle more than 530hp! getting those tricks will jsut ruin it. i know i know. u will have a split block, i know i know. if you want to talk to me more about turbo mustangs, hit me up. stock block is weak! ask supercharger guys, they'll bust u for that one.
blocks are weak, but built block (as in dart, r302, blah) would rock!
i wouldn't put money into talking about same numebrs as hondas. I know a guy put same effort as another friend of mine, who has a 11.00 civic. he hit 9.990 at 1xxmph in his foxbody mustang on slicks.

almost. u can actually run a chipped mustang to 590hp. proven, just MAF upgrade and chip and injectors and some lil ****, you'll hit 10s no problem.
a mustang guy, i met hit 11.00 with JUNKYARD t3 turbos from Tbirds, and some other ghetto ****. using 8x 370cc injectors and supporting mods, like chipping fuel pressure regulator, etc.
it's tru about drivetrain mod though.

1000hp is alot of work, same would go into a honda going 700hp, but it's pretty ez hit 10s with V8 and turbo though.

i can get stock 302 blocks (mustang) for 50 bucks. and other parts for even cheaper. it's because it's not IMPORTED, that's why it's go cheap.

If you buy a kit, yes, it can get very costly. If you do it JY style you can build stuff for dirt-cheap. I helped me friend build a twin turbo kit for his 89 mustang with a 351W swap, with a big air/air intercooler, twin garrett TO4R's, and twin 3.5" downpipes it ran us approx. 3400 bucks, with 3000 going to turbos and intercooler. On his .030 over truck block with 7.5:1 JE's, eagle rods, canfield 212's, a blow-thru 850 holley and a lenntech with a brake hes gone 9.8's @ 140 on low boost and 26x10.5x16 e/t streets.

Re: (91tegrals)
turbo magazine had a turbo mustang a few years back. the car made more torque than hp. they had a hard time keeping the tranny healthy though. i would imagine at that kind of power an auto tranny would be the way to go and have it built,

Turbo Mustang > Honda
There a handful of people going Low 9s\8s on Drag Radials...
You'll go faster than any honda...I'm going to start building a Turbo Notchback next year.
I'm a hardcore honda guy, but I realize I'm at the bottom of the foodchain when it actually comes to fast ****...Period.
