Default Twin Charge ZC ? super and turbo charge?

hey guys im gonna do this setup but is there any do's and dont do's about it?
im running DOHC zc with
vf8 turbo
450cc injectors
external coil
external gate 5psi
stand alone LINK ecu
what super charger is best to use?
do i plum the supercharged straight into the intercooler ?
run 5psi on super and 5psi on turbo?
do i get one with a electric clutch? so when i hit 5psi on turbo the super turns off?
(electric solienoid on electric clutch)?

any help is greatly apprticated

cheers

My opinion on do's and don'ts:

DO: turbocharge your honda.
DON'T: put a supercharger in that mess.
DO: use 450cc (or bigger) injectors.
DON'T: waste money on a LINK ecu (well, you're in NZ, so maybe nobody tunes AEM or Hondata - or has internet access to crome/uberdata )
DO: Run boost.
DON'T: spend all that money for just 5psi on an unbuilt motor:
DO: use an external coil for 400+ whp or if you car eats OEM coils/ignitors.
DON'T: run an external coil for looks.
DO: Run complicated do-dads like an electronic boost comtroller and a wideband o2 sensor.
DON'T: run expensive and generally unreliable things like electroic clutches for a supercharger.

DO: use honda-tech for questions you can't find using the red search TOOL
DON'T: buy a lot of stuff before researching it on honda-tech. Chances are someone else HAS done it before.

As you can see, most of that is meant to be funny, but it reflects the real message. It is far better and cheaper to build your motor and only run the supercharger OR turbocharger ALONE than to do both. The basic reason turbos are better are because they don't have heavy rollers to always be tumbling, and they can be intercooled very easily. Putting a supercharger inline messes that all up. I do believe it was attempted in the last year or two, and didn't work out the best.

If you still plan on doing it, 5psi could go either way. If it was just set with the pully, no bypass, it would be sequential charging, meaning it would push up to 5psi with the SC until the turbo spooled, then (assuming you put the wastegate's line before the SC) the turbo would boost 5psi. That 5psi air would be compressed 5psi more. IMO, useless, since the SC can just push 10-12psi and be just as fast. With a bypass on the SC, it would pressurize the manifold, then bypass when the turbo spooled up. The problem with that is you always have the turbo adding exhaust backpressure, which cancels out the benifit of the bypass (or even an electric clutch).

The whole point is that the dual system is not necessary, besides for of what we call 'bling factor'. For the same amount of cash, you can weld up an air-water intercooler to the SC, have instant boost, cooler IAT's, and more power. BTW - the 450's are good for around 300whp, and a 60trim T3 will tackle that AND spool quickly.

Im gonna agree with Hiprofile. By picking the right turbo, you can minimize spool times and will make the power and torque you want down low in the rpm band.

GT28r (or the RS if you want more power) would spool very fast on the dohc zc's.
