Default turbonetics t3/t04b 54trim .48 a/r on a gsr

recently i just picked up this turbonetic t3/t04b .48 a/r 7 blade on the compressor . im not sure on the trim. i think its a 50 or 54trim. i thought i was getting a t04e 50trim turbo but the guy i got it from listed it wrong and got this instead...

so i was wondering if im able to get 300-350whp with this turbo on a forge internal gsr. im just going for low to mid range power. i dont plan on doing any 5th gear top speed pulls or anything. just wanted something with quick spool with good low to midrange power.

i believe t his is the compressor map for the turbo

it's neither a 50 or 54 trim, it is what you put the map up of though which is a vtrim. if you had the .63 exhaust housing it will do 300-350whp but the .48 is just too small for a gsr. on all the dynos i've seen, and there aren't many, the .48 housing is falling by 7000 on a gsr. if you swapped housings you would be set.

i use to have a vtrim myself and sold it for a real 50 trim, biggest problem with the vtrim is surge once the compressor hits a certain point. somewhere between 350-380whp is usually it from that turbo.

since you already have it, you could try it and go from there. worst case buy a .63 housing to bolt on. i'd probably start with a .7 bar spring and go from there.

would you happen to know where i could get a housing? but then it probably wont be cheap...

as long it makes good power(300 or more)from 2000-7000 rpm. i would be happy. i was planning to start out at 14.5psi but i guess i will go lower to 10psi like you said. i just wanted to make sure i had a stiff enough spring if it still made power in the 20psi range with a mbc

These are hard to get because there are few of those wheels available. Best to call turbonetics to get one. Tell them you have a v1/v2 8 bladed compressor wheel. It will sork for a GS-R until reversion hits at about 20psi.

looks like it, would call to confirm, but, if you can sell your turbo as is for $300, add that $229 to it you could buy a sc34 from turbo daves for $539 or the billet 50 trim 5431e for $50-70 more. i think you would be happier with a 5431e or sc34 and may be able to do it without spending much. the vtrim is going to surge if you try for 20lbs, the 5431e won't. lot of neon str.t guys running that with great results. solid 6 bladed compressor wheel and LIGHT. it's also the newest tech out of precision falling under their CEA class

what you have is a good turbo for a d16, sell it to one of those guys and buy a 5431e billet

Misstyped. It is 7, That may be it, but its best to CALL..... Worse case scenario, you can send in your turbo to a repair facility for them to machine a t04b housing for your turbo.

that was a while ago. they're going for about 600 new now because they're trying to rid the line entirely. but there are alternatives that are still less than the 850 that work well too.

https://turbodaves.com/Precision_Turbo_.html

sale must be over, they were 539 awhile ago, 579 now or 655 for the 5431e

the 3431e is what's commonly called the sc34 or their 57 trim

i just think you're going to kick yourself with that.48 housing, it's going to funkify your top end

if you could ebay your turbo for 300-350 you would be set to order a new precision
