Default turboing an eg hatch b16

if you slap on turbo do you have to tune it? i was reading one of the post about homemade turbo and i was thinking of doing that and if you really do need a tuner how much do they run for? abot average

Yes you need to tune it. Goto inlinepro, They will hook you up w/ Hondata and tune it for you. Great tunners

you cant just slap a turbo on and run with it. it will work for about 1 pull till your motor blows.

you need some kinda of fuel management and tune.

the reason why you have a fuel management system is for safety and to extract more power from it

they charge by the hour generally. usually about $150 an hour, although my 9 psi tune with hondata took 1.5 hours and cost $180.

you have to put into consideration dyno time too, if the dyno is not the tuner's you have to pay more to rent it

really.. hmm pretty expensive im just worried do tuners take there time for fun? like do they eat a sandwhich while there dyno your car at 150 an hour? im just worried about that cuz time means money you know

I guess its possible they could do that. I doubt they would stay in business very long.

When I got my car tuned, they got my car all strapped down on the dyno before my tuner realised something was broke on his lap top. He asked me if I minded him running to the computer store to get the part, or if I wanted to re-schedule. I wasn't charged for the time I was waiting.
