turbo wont spool after 2500rpm
its a turbonetics t3/t4 on a 94 LS...
it spools until 2500rpm, makes a loud *** " CLICK " and the blades stop spining... after 2500 to 6000 feels slower then a stock LS integra....
dont know mcuh about turbos but i think the turbo might be bad... it was rebuilt recently...
anyone experianced this before?

It happened to me in a dsm, the turbo may have exntensive shaft play and the blades may have hit the housing and locked up. Remove the air filter if you have any before the turbo inlet and try to move the wheel around. You may need to have the turbo rebuilt. After the 2.5k do you see any boost build up in the boost guage?

no boost... one time it didnt click until 3000rpm and i saw like 2psi of boost, then CLICK and no more boost... i know the problem is probably the turbo, but my friend was told that the turbo has been rebuilt and balanced(?) ....

we need more info . . . does the turbo have any shaft play? Is the turbo leaking any oil or anything? Try spinning the turbo blades with your hand and see if it spins freely or if something stops it.

no oil leak
the shaft had a lil play, not even 1mm. i was told that thats normal, but too much play is bad.
and the shaft spun without a problem by hand...

There was an extensive thread a little while ago on this...some guy had the exact same problem. I think he got someone to rev it while he watched the compressor blades and he said they would shake violently side to side and then the click and it would stop. Sounds like a bad center section to me. Also look for blade to housing contact.

Re: (DaX)
mine s the opposite
it wont start moving until i give it some gas or rev it to like 2500-3000 rpms
could a bad manifold gasket leak be the problem?
out of all the stuff i have read i haven't heard about the turbo spooling then just clicking.
Is it a loud click? loud enough you can hear it in your car?
