Default Turbo time wiring with aftermarket alarm.

I found this on a DSM site. Do you guys/girls think this will work?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your car has an aftermarket alarm system it gets even easier.
Look at the wiring coming off of the ignition switch. you will usually notice
one wire that has been tapped into. Confirm that it is the ignition wire with
a test light. You will need to remove this added-on alarm signal wire from
the ignition wire, and instead tap it into the accessory wire.
Use a test light to locate the accessory wire. This will allow the alarm to
set and the doors to lock & unlock with the ignition key but not the turbo
timer. The alarm now thinks the car is off when the accessory circut goes
dead.

Everyone that has had a turbo timer installed by wiring directly instead of
using a vehicle specific harness check to be sure that your fan (IGN 2) is
working while the timer is counting down. The whole point is to let the motor
cool down.

hmmm..sounds like a good idea, but

most alarms seem to have some sort of ignition sensor in that if the car is started, they will be set off. Also, it seems to me like the vibrations of the running car will be enough to set off the alarm (hell that thermal sets off other alarms when I'm just barely cruising by).

Someone please try this, though....I need to get my **** working so that I don't have to sit in the car when the timer counts down. It's getting really old now.

I've got a problem with my greddy turbo timer. The timer works fine with my alarm and all but sometimes while Im driving it starts to countdown(counts down then after 0:00 it doesnt turn off the car but just resets) or whenever I shift in reverse it does this too.

you can use two relays to interupt the ignition wire for the alarm and the other one for the shock sensor.

I got the same problem. I need to check the wiring cause it counts down all the time and makes a rattling noise when its cold.
Man I really need to try that trick to set my alarm too. I hate waiting in it.

I have a friend with a greddy turbo timer and it works fine for him! His alarm is hooked up to ACC and his turbo timer keeps IGN1 on...

My turbo timer (blitz) keeps both ACC and IGN1 on, so my alarm is hooked up to IGN2, and it works fine too! Stupid alarm gets set off by the car turning off though (it's not the shock sensor, it's the electrical surge) so i have to set my alarm when my turbo timer's countdown is under 20seconds. Still better than waiting the whole time though

awesome... so I can hook my timer up to both my ig1 and ig2, and then move the alarm wire from ig1 to acc? Where would you suggest hooking up the constant +12V wire?

My only concern is people hot wiring the car. It'll work if you use the key, but if someone hot wires the car, they're not gunna bother w/ the acc. line.

I haven't been on this board for about a year now but I can help with this. I've got a wiring diagram for this. It will enable you to activate your alarm while your car is running on the turbo timer. It's for a greddy tt but you can adapt it to any tt. If someone want's to host the pic I'll email it to them.

ok i just bought the 5 pt relay.

85 -- 12v constant
86 -- grounded
87a and 30 were wired to the 2 cut ends from the alarm ignition wire
(i'm assuming it doesnt matter which ends get which wire)
87 left alone

anyways i thought it was working fine until my alarm armed when i was driving around. i do have passive arming but i disabled it, but it still arms while driving

i dont know what i did wrong, any ideas?

edit: nevermind, i figured out what i did wrong with the original method posted. dont even need the relay any more.
