Default Turbo terminology (fuel mapping)

Hey everybody,

I was just wondering what does this phrase mean?

The MAP is displayed in 256 points (16 points of rotation axis X 16 points of axial load).

Could someone come up with a explanation of these terms? I know that it has to do with tuning your fuel.

It mentions 16 points...axis X and 16 points...axial load (16 * 16 = 256). Is that like saying that you can adjust on a X-Axis and a Y-Axis?

also what is the rotation axis and what is the axial load

It's an overly technobabble and annoying way of saying the fuel is mapped by rpm and pressure. RPM (rotations per minute) is your X axis and Y axis is engine load as measured by the MAP sensor.

You have a 16x16 fuel map resolution.

urghh!!! why couldn't they just say what they meant.

so if it has 16 points for RPM, and it starts from 500 RPM and goes every 500 RPM increment than you can adjust fuel at the following RPMs.

500
1000
1500
2000
2500
3000
3500
4000
4500
5000
5500
6000
6500
7000
7500
8000

Is that correct?
