Default Which Turbo(t3, 2860rs, GT3076)?

I'm thinking of getting one of these 3 turbos, probably between the 28rs and the garret 3076, My goal is 300-350 HP,(98 teggy, b18b1 eagle rods, weisco pistons, arp studs, full rebuild, everything except sleeves) I think the 28rs will spool faster but honestly i've never driven with either so I don't have any real experience.

From this kit:
GO-AUTOWORKS StreetX Turbo Kit Ball Bearing D16 B16 B18 B20

Any Advice? Thanks guys!

Really either works, the 28rs will definitely be faster but will be maxxed out sooner if you decide to push your boost levels up; more than if you ran a gt30. The t3 (imo) is the best performance for dollar wise because you still get really fast spool (still quicker than gt30) but you will max out even sooner at only 320 crank hp, or sub 300whp. The gt28 will be all around faster than the t3, not sure if it's worth the extra price however.

You're ignoring the 2867 in the list. You shouldn't be ignoring that turbo. It would be perfect for what you want.

I actually plan on getting their tuner kit and supplement in the gtx2867r. Tuner kit comes with a tubular log manifold and larger wastegate

lol telling him to go for a 47lbs min turbo for 300-350 hp?
Yeah makes sense. OP, get a gt28 or t3, only get the larger one if you plan on pushing more power down the line

I guess I'm missing the humor in this suggestion?

A GT2860RS is about 320whp maximum for these engines at about 20psi or so. If he's trying to go over 350whp, the GTX2867R can work well, if staying T25 turbine based.

But a T3 flanged sized turbocharger at 47lbs/min can do absolutely fantastic for the 300-350whp as well. Torque may not necessarily be as flat at about 250ft/lbs as the GTX2867R, but I see no reason why a properly T3-based setup can't do the job just as effectively. Especially if this is more of a street car than circuit.

I guess that's why I'm wondering why 47lbs/min is "laughable" or "lolz"or "lulzable" or whatever you all use for expressing humor in this day and age.

It's laughable because
A) hasn't specified whether he means wheel or crank hp, though I guess everyone just assumes wheel and even then as you said yourself the gt28 will at least fit the lower to mid ends of his wants
B) You have told me in the past that it's better to go for something to specifically meet your goals (as you have told others) and not to get a larger turbo now...never said it wouldn't work or spool quickly and sure it would get him to the upper ends of his goal but bottom line is the gt28 will spool faster, and should hold the torque all the way through his rev range. Not to mention as NotARacist has pointed out elsewhere that these turbos hold their value extremely well, so he could just sell it and get another later.
That's why I said lol, and no, I did not truthfully 'laugh out loud' sir

PS 'lulzable' would not be the correct terminology because lulz means 'the laughs'
I.E 'I'm in it for the lulz' is the same as 'I'm in it for the laughs'

Thanks for all the posts guys, i definitely mean HP at the wheels not crank, lets say I wanted to shoot for 375-400 hp in the future(I'm pretty sure i'd be happy around 325 but never know right) which turbo would be best then? What did you mean 47lbs/min for that turbo?

Welp if your thinking only 400 max in the future then hell yeah the 2867 is the best. Even maybe the ball bearing t3t4.
The 47lbs min is the absolute max amount of air your turbo can push into your motor. For simplicity 1lbs is about 10hp. So (extremely theoretically) this turbo will flow to a max of 470 crank hp, or at least somewhere in that area, making it the best for 400whp.
Learning to read compressor maps really helps a lot man, there's two good youtube videos on it, plus a little reading and you'll be hella knowledged ; )

I'm too old to give a **** what all the discernible connotations that all means, to be honest with ya.. That's why I was really just making fun of the whole phenomenon in the first place. Simply put, Grown *** men don't "lol".

As for the usability of 400whp+, even the GTX2867R is going to be in the 1.68-1.70 bar range to do that power level for future goals. This is where I use a little more exhaust wheel to do the job in the ball-bearing cartridge.

I.e. GTX3067R, SR30R, GTX3071R, etc..
It ask depend upon the fuel and use at this point

how do you feel about maxing out a gt2860rs on a stock gsr longblock on pump gas for road racing?

I wouldn't. One should never max out any turbocharger out of its efficiency range if ever possible. especially in Road race situation, if you're out more than about 10-15 laps at a time. Turn the boost down to the 300whp (under 16-18psi) and you'll be fine.
