Bridgestone Potenza RE730 tires, 30-35psi. h&r built in coilover/shock. launching around 4500-5000, peels out the whole 1st gear and partial 2nd. what can i do to get better/more traction. keep in mind this is a street car.

Falken Azenis 205/55/15 on gs-r swirls the key to racing a turbo car which many probally agree is you cant come out of the whole like an NA car you have to eas into the throttle not just smash it once your rolling then hti it and launch a little better 4500 is way to high my man if you launch at tat rpm with a stock motor your gonna spin first

I say you get some goood tires!!! My bro and I have been using the BF goodrich drag radials.....w/ proper driving you should be able to nail 2.0 60 foots all day.
M H make a dot approved drag radial that I haven't tried yet, But they almost look like slicks. better yet get some slicks !!!!!!

Azenis on some gsr wheels here also. I like traction, you never know how fast your car is until you get some!

Re: Turbo Street Car...Traction (Sinner)
aren't 17's a little big for racing? no other suggestions besides changing tires? in what ways is the AVCR going to help getting out of the hole? no nasty clutch drops, how do you suggest i should get out of the whole. power transfer is not a problem, act 6 puck hd pressure plate. in what ways is a boost controller going to help?

I have the same problem here, im making around 300whp but i can beat a RSX with only 192whp coz of traction problem. I get traction at the end of 3rd gear. I think lower my front tire pressure will help alot. Can someone give more suggestion.

YES! it will help. It is a gear dependent boost controller, meaning that it is able to run a lower amount of boost in first and second gear allowing you a better chance to get traction. Its able to be setup however that you want to. It will help with traction issues. The only way it wont is if you are allready running the lowest boost level that your wastegate spring is setup to run.

Get better tires and then learn how to launch your car. I can launch my carc with no problem at 5k rpm using soft compound 215/50-15 ADVANs. The boost controller will help but it will not solve all of your problems.

Re: Turbo Street Car...Traction (DC2_9)
do you use the mt street slicks or are you suggesting? how well do they hook up? i was wondering how much power do you make to launch your car at 5k? what do you set your tire pressure to when you race? so basically i just have to get the hang of launching. i was wondering, for all the turbo street cars, what kind of tires you run on, how much power you make.

Re: Turbo Street Car...Traction (DC2_9)
i have a turbo gsr 10lbs/294 and 7lbs/247, i reccomend boost controler and a dot nitto or bfg both are good just depends on size you need, during the summer i launch at 7lbs and in 2nd i go 10lbs if i go any higher than 7or 8lbs in 1st it gets hard to launch and spins towards top of first gear.

I use ADVAN A038/A048 205 or 215/50-15 but I will be installing my 225/50-15 BFG's for "track only use". I will be launching the BFG's at 6K+ rpms.
