Default turbo stock b18c5 motor

ok i was woundering how much power a stock internals type-r can handle on a daily basis? i wanna have a 400 WHP with a pump gas turbo type-r motor. i never see or hear of anyone running a turbo on a stock internal type-r motor. i'm using the inline pro 3mm head gasket and a stage 4 full race set up victor X manifold 70mm throttle body 660 injectors and having jeff evans tune the car i made the appointment. i was just woundering what to exspect from the car when i get it tuned.

you better off asking jeff evan

i believe he wont tune your car to 400hp since your internals are stock and pump gas

theres alot of stock turbo R in the board
stock internal limit is around 300hp depending on how beat the motor is

Build the motor and run 9:1 compression and you can get 400whp on pump gas.

boost stock itr motor 7-8psi or so like itr206 that was his old honda-tech name...make about 300whp...

compression plays a big role but it all lies in tuning

i am at 10:1 with a gt35 pushing 366whp...at 15psi...

I think the big isue with this engine is that it has a wery small "piston to wall" clearence.

Once you turbocharge it and run it hot the pistons will increase size a bit and piston will cut the sylinderwalls.

the ITR engines has forged pistons as well, but thin rods and high comp.

read here:

(In order to increase compression ratio, the side molds of the pistons were increased. (Pent-Roof-type Piston) The inside was shaved to balance out the total weight, and the aluminum pistons were forged in order to retain precision.)

I supose they can handle boost in moderate propotions, with the right tuning and fuel.

I made 295whp on a Mustang dyno at 10 Psig boost on bone stock internals. The motor lasted for 40K boosted, it probably would have lasted longer had I not played around with crappy 'tuning' methods, I should have gotten the Hondata right away. Anyways, it's a great low boost candidate. I'm currently building a forged internal GSR motor for it. Good luck with your setup.

another example on how you cant always believe what you hear on honda-tech
