Default turbo sohc recipe

i know that stock y7 can take 10 lbs at the max on stock internals. anybody want to list setup that allows them to boost to 10psi, especially fuel, ignition, and fuel management.

Boosting 10 psi daily, the usually set up in sig. 10 psi is fine if the engine is in good shape, low miles, change your oil and the other maintence crap and have fun!

cool, more set-up pls!

a wastegate is not needed on the greddy kit cuz its internal correct?

i have a d16y7. my tranny is grinding and i should replace it instead of fixing it. i need a EX head and IM. should i just buy a whole EX swap instead of messing with my y7. but if the y7 bottom end is the same as the y8 then ill just worry about the head and tranny. what should i do?

Correct, the greddy kit has an internal wastegate on the turbo. If your tranny is grinding, and has fairly low miles I would just get syncros.. atleast price them. Might be a little more expensive, but finding a good transmission with low miles isn't easy or cheap. Atleast you know what yours has gone through. Finding a y8 head and intake manifold shouldn't be too hard. Your probaly looking at $200 for both, maybe a little less if you shop around.

what you need to realize is that just because someone says car can run 10 psi of boost on a stock bottem end doesnt mean it can...its about the power your making from your turbo setup....im running garrett t3 60 trim, thermal catback, custom 2" stainless o2 housing and downpipe, 2" ic piping w/ mitsu sidemount, 2.5" AEM upper IC pipe, tial 38mm wastegate (6psi), stainless steel manifold, eagle rods and pistons (8.7:1) z6 head with zex cam, springs, teg tb w/ z6 manifold, and thats about it and at 6psi i made 205 whp....now if i had a stock bottem end i would be definitely pushing the limit on d-series internals....so at 6psi with stock internals i could have had my engine go <<<<poof>>>> but i had my engine built before a turbo setup so i can make the power i want, eventually.....so you cant distinguish that a car can hold 10psi, a stock 1.6l d-series bottem end... can hold 200 hp but that is the border line of self destruction....it might last for awhile but your internals will take a beating at a 200 power level...so dont just get the car and run 10 psi if you dont wanna blow yur motor...start off small and work big, and make sure you get the idea of bigger is better before you go boosting yur car......good luck on the setup, hope it works out...boost is fun, peace

and my setup is on a 90 honda crx si....

I would really like to see a pic of the dyno #'s when you put down 205 hp with 6 psi, and (8.7:1) compression. That sounds very impressive but very unlikely. I have some doubts that you could get 205 hp with 6 psi and that low of compression.
As for the stock motor, 200hp daily is not a problem at all if you have some sort of tuning capabilities. 225-235 hp daily will be a strain on the sohc, but with the right tuning, it is being done.

on stock internals??? i dunno about that....200 crank hp is about all i would do with stock internals....unless you like the risk of a rod snapping at any second, its to risky especially running up in the revs....stock honda rods are toothpicks, and i wouldnt trust them.....oh and the dyno chart is in a older post that is like t3+d16=205 whp or somethin like that.....but believe it, it really happened, im stuck at 6psi because of teh tial wastegate..im not buying a boost controllr till i have my j&s safeguard....but the dyno chart is in an older post like early last week i believe, should be easy to find....peace

Default Y7 bottom end

The y8 (p2p) has a dish volume of 6.2 cc while the y7(p2e) has a dish volume of -3.32 cc. If you do a mini me swap you have to take into account the increased compression ratio of the total package.

Yes, I forget who it was but he made 300 whp on a stock D series. I think it was like 15-16 psi with a t3 60-1

Werd. The psi doesnt snap your rods, the horse power does. Be careful guys.

Usually its detination, or compressure surge that snaps rods,, if your set up is properly tunes,, you will melt a piston from insane combustion chamber temps before you will bend a rod
