Default Turbo size question!!! All opinions welcome

I now have the chance to purchase a turbo from a friend for 275.00. I asked around and 2 people so far said this turbo was to large and I would never be able to spool it. I just wanted to get some more experienced opions. Im not questioning the reliability of this setup (I know it will blow up soon ) but just questioning if and how soon this turbo will spool. Im guessing around 6000-6500rpms. BTW, Shooting for 400whp at 16psi. All opinions welcome Thanks

My setup-
B16a head (I rev it to 9200rpm) (I DONT GIVE A F*CK)
b18b block
inline pro head gasket (Compression at 8:0:1)
blockgaurd
arp head studs
stock pistons and rods
stock intake manifold
open 3" downpipe
V-AFC (V-Tech set to 4500rpm)
550cc injectors
walboro 255

Tranny-
B16 tranny
Clutchnet stage 3 sprung

Turbo-
Garrett T3/T4 S-Trim
Turbine .84 A/R
Compressor .60 A/R

The turbo will be way to small for you bro . I'd say full spool by 2,500-2,600 by the details you gave me

The price is good, assuming there's little to no shaft play. The problem is that the exhaust AR is big. You'll see lots of lag, and not much extra HP over a smaller AR. Even more so since you're going up to 16 psi. It wouldn't be bad as a drag turbo, but as a daily, smaller would be more fun.

I say ROCK THAT SNAIL.

Just make sure you are pointed where you want to be headed by the time your tach hits 5k or so.

I understand. The car definitly not daily driven. We just wanted to see how much power it could make stock block. I just be racing it a the track for fun. Do you think that the power would be usable in the higher rev range ( 6000-9200)?

when I call turbonectics and told them I wanted a turbo that would put out 350hp and then be able to run 500hp on big boost. They recommended a T3/T4 57trim (think I have a v-trim wheel forgot been so long.) with a 0.63 stage 3 exhaust.
I later found out that the 57trim out flows the 60 trim.I was orginally gonna go with the 60 but went with the 57.So get the 57-.063 Just DONT get an XS-POWER turbo.I dont think you can get anything decent for less than $300.Spend $200 more dollars and get something good and make sure its VSR balanced.

If you want to save some money order a 0.63 turbine shaft $89(ebay vecco) and 0.63 exhaust housing $198 (turbonetics or someone else)and put that on your turbo then put it together and have it balanced $35(carcraft).Should cost about $300 right there.
