Is this Turbo Right for my goal (425-450whp)??
So i got a Turbonetics turbo that i cant find much info about. I tore it down and measured wheels and googled for an hour or so...Ill list what ive got:
To4e compressor housing(looks to be a .60 A/R but i cant find a # on it)
57mm Inducer
76mm Exducer
56 trim
Compressor wheel appears to be very close to gt3076 wheel...44lbs/min
.50 A/R T4 Turbine housing 3" v-band outlet(not sure how .50 A/R would convert for T3)
63mm Inducer
74mm Exducer
74 trim
Turbine wheel appears to be the same as a gt32.
Also it is journal bearing(i think...look like brass bearings to me but why does it run water & oil?)
My setup is below:
GSR block stock sleeves
81.5mm CP 9:1 pistons
new bearings
new seals
Eagle rods
arp studs
oem HG
GSR head
Supertech valvetrain
Supertech guides and valves
mild port job
Victor X intake mani
65mm TB
Spoolin mini ram
Spoolin 3" dp
38mm turbosmart ultragate
full 3" exhaust
So i know im not going to spool this thing for **** but i didnt know about the .50 A/R hot side...it seems small and with the mini ram im hoping gas velocity will be decent. Im shooting for anything over 400whp but would like to b closer to 450 and have full boost by 5k. Possible???
Is this turbo going to be way out of its efficent range? I could still go a different route with the turbo but would like to use this unit if i can. Any advice/theories would be appreciated!

Re: Is this Turbo to big for my goal (425-450whp)??
For the power your looking to make the gt3076r is the best choice IMO. One of the best "street" turbos and the powerband / spool is the best!

yeh thats the impression im getting...how about the stock sleeves? Is there a pressure limit or more of a power limit on them? I plan on venting the block and valve cover just to be safe.
Anybody running similar setups, what can i expect?

There are SOOO many others in the category, we'll have to show you the other options from the Garrett / Borg-Warner and Holeset camps. That's one turbo out of 10 that can do the job. Let's look to his requirements more before coming to such a quick conclusion (though I understand this was simply your OPINION.)

Anyone running gt32 or comparable turbine wheel with stock bore or close to it chime in and post spool times...although im not sure how the .50 A/R T4 housing will respond?

Re: Is this Turbo Right for my goal (425-450whp)??
Ultimate street turbo not a lot of lag depending on load of the motor by 3800-4200 rpms I would see full boost 15psi car was only street tuned conservatively been in my fair share of high hp turbo fwd cars and very big difference delivery of boost. A 4000-5000 rpm power band is easily attainable and very predictable reminds me a lot of a gt30r with more top end and best part of all its rebuild able
