save the headache and just buy a kit...comes w/ everything you need to hook up...no running around....

the line that came with my kit was around 4ft.. if your talking 6-8ft then I don't think thats too long, but add 20ft or so then you get restrictive enough where it might affect your turbo because there's not enough oil getting to it...

it wont hurt your oil pump or anything else in the system, just restricts oil to the turbo more...

EDIT:
that was just from a running motor standpoint... on cold start the motor has to prime the oil line, to long of a line could starve the turbo while the lines get primed. every few feet adds a fraction of a second delay to get oil in the turbo...not sure what length is "too long" though...

thanks for the replys so far.... the reason i was asking is becasue i have a -4 line from the block to the firewall that is about 1.5 ft long... if most kits come with 3 to 4 ft lines add the two together and the line bcomes 4.5-5.5 ft long.... thats seems way to long... i can picture a cold winter morning start up and that 4.5 ft long line taking way to long to prime..

any 1-2 ft of extra will not affect the time it took to prime it. your motor at cold temp pushes out 50 psi ish, 1-2 ft of extra length will not effect it at all.

All of our kits comes with 40" if the line is coming from the back of the block.

hey stan, could you make a seat warmer oil line setup, maybe run the oil line to my seat, then to the turbo to keep my bum nice and warm in the winter

an extra 2ft of line isn't anything in regards to a feed line, just as stan said. no need to worry, continue with your build.

My firewall kits are 18", and the -3 feedline is 4 ft.

I don't think a cold, probably non spinning turbo is going to suffer if oil doesn't get to it the second the car fires. You'll be fine.
