turbo not clearing a/c condensor with a log manifold
I have the day off, so I went outside to measure up my manifold, charge pipes, oil lines, etc.. and I noticed my turbo wont fit with my a/c condensor in there.. my exhaust (header) flange to the condensor (without a fan) is ~8", and the exhaust flange from my turbo manifold to the end of the turbo (vertically) is ~10".. I bought a log manifold for the main reason that I need a/c in this FL heat. so what the hell?
btw the setup is as follows;
'96 civic coupe
BLOX cast log mani.
T3/T04E 57 trim (60/63)
compressor side is facing the drivers side
has anyone else had this problem before?

A/C is over rated
What bolt pattern is your turbo, manifold like those are designed around the bolt pattern on the turbo.

Every AC log i've seen had the compressor side facing the passanger side and the turbine facing the AC condensor on the driver's side.

Re: turbo not clearing a/c condensor with a log manifold (RCautoworks)
5 bolt exhaust..
I was thinking I may need to turn the compressor toward the passenger side, but the condensor and radiator butt up against each other, so I don't see how that would change anything
also a/c is pretty necessary when you're stuck in rush hour traffic with a female in the car.

yeah, i know i must run it this way to hook up the A/C COMPRESSOR, but i'm wanting to run the normal down pipe i have right now until i can get an A/C down pipe from spoolin.

yeah i just noticed that when i flipped the compressor around... grr so I have to pull my a/c system until i can get a custom down pipe

my compressor is already out from the built motor swap, so the lines aren't charged any more.. and I already have a down pipe that will work without a/c
I guess my budget is the main reason too

a/c p/s will be 500whp shortly. Already did 300whp on a 57 trim. stepped up to a sc60

Re: (Turbo-LS)
I have a full-race ac manifold and the compressor is facing towards the passanger side. That is the only way it would clear the ac compressor. My clearance issues aren't with the turbo but the wastgate placement won't clear a full size radiator.

yeah i never understood why they put the WG port on the front of the manifolds. generally i think they could be better placed on the side of the collector to allow more room for the full sized rads. from what ive seen with a ramhorn i had would have worked just fine. But im not a manifold fabricator so maybe there is something i dont know. As far as i see the collector is the same all four sides so should matter which side you have the hole drilled for wg

Re: (Turbo-LS)
anything is possible. But the extra time and money spent to make the perfect manifold, would interest very few buyers because of the price change. The way we make them now, keeps the price right and the objective achievable. If you can make changes to turbo charge your honda/acura... then changing to a half core radiator shouldn't be an issue. It isnt like a half core wont get the job done, because i know for a fact my stock civic Half core kept near 600whp in check for thousands of daily driven street/track abuse.

haha.. i got the blox for 100 and it's basically inlinepro knock off.
i still want your injectors though
