Turbo manifolds- Mini ram
Been looking at two in particular, the mini ram made by Go-Autoworks and the Quick4 made by Spoolin performance. Is one better than the other? Or is there another mini ram out there which would be better than both of these?
On the quick4 wastegate port is to side of manifold whereas on Go-Autoworks mini ram, its towards the front. My own logical thinking would be having port on front should provide better wastegate/boost control as exhaust gases are moving in this direction.
Opinions welcome.
Thanks

I thought it had some pictures of the return line set up. I hope this helps anyways

The design itself causes drain issues, they place the turbo so low and so close to the block that you either need to use standard hose and push fittings or if you're using an fittings, run a complete circle/loop from turbo drain to oil pan

Re: Turbo manifolds- Mini ram
Should I just pay the bit extra and go for a Ram horn manifold which will position the turbo up higher? I've been told my spool time will be 500rpm later with the ram horn....

What are your power goals? A ramhorn might be overkill....
And just because you have to work a bit harder to run a return line doesn't mean you need to swap manifolds.... plenty of people run mini rams without issue

You'll be fine, the mini ram will support that power without issue, you'll also see better response vs a ramhorn. I would have the manifold and turbine housing coated for even more response, power, and efficiency

Re: Turbo manifolds- Mini ram
The Mini Ram oil drain "issue" isnt much of an issue. We just do not suggest using AN fittings for the drain as they take up to much space. We use a 45 degree fitting off the turbo, 5/8 oil safe hose, to a straight barb fitting on the pan with a 1/2 weld bung mounted slightly lower on the pan to give a more desirable angle. This will work perfectly fine on both manifolds in the original question

Re: Turbo manifolds- Mini ram
I have had a mini-ram last year.
I had a local shop do the return line and it wasn't the best..... worked but didn't have any flex & would leak.
Some DSM guys told me to use pushlock hose/fittings... no leaks, slightly more flex & drain angle was improved.
