Default Is a turbo manifold supposed to glow red?

On my buddy's Merkur..after running the car pretty hard..the turbo manifold glows...is that normal or is he running lean?

Normal. My buddy claims he once saw the turbine spinning through the red.

Normal. My buddy claims he once saw the turbine spinning through the red.
Your buddy was sniffing a few too many gas fumes. It turns red, not invisible.

Perhaps I misunderstood... I was under the impression you might have actually believed that your friend could see through a glowing piece of solid iron.

Hey haven't you seen fast & furious... you can see the spinning turbine when you go from the motor to the wheels or whatever in that one scene.

Again Its a fact, the metal is so hot that it begins to become transparent, this is the point when the metal starts changing its form. If U were to continue running and the turbo is getting hot faster than it can get cool, it will start loosing its shape, the blades might even collide with the walls.
