NO its not normal! first you need to locate where exactly it is coming from.

More than likely is your return flange or the gasket that's used there...

My **** leaks from the return flange.... its setup with 1 stud and nut, and 1 bolt.... bolt side is fine....... stud side leaks like a *****.

Granted I can go 3000 miles without loosing ANY real amt of oil.... but I leave drips and it gets the underside of the turbo, ic piping, tranny, everything under there coated and its annoying.

There is a seal that keeps oil in the CHRA and two piston rings that go around the shaft. I'd guess one of those, probably the seal. I had the same problem. Make sure the bolts holding your CHRA to the compressor backing plate are tight I had stripped mine. So the seal wasn't holding under pressure.

CHRA = center housing rotating assembly

It's the part that the compressor and the turbine housings bolt to. It contains the bearings that the shaft rotates on and holds the oil flowing through the turbo.

Spraying oil is oil under pressure and the oil flowing through the return line isn't pressurized. You can try unbolting the return flange and cleaning it up, spraying some copper seal gasket on the mating surfaces and bolting it up tight again. But my bet is that it's the shaft sealing rings (also called piston rings) or the CHRA to compressor backing plate seal. That will require tearing it apart to fix. It's not hard to do.

My turbo leaks like that and had leaked like that since I got it. I turned down the oil pressure going to it and it helped it out. Before I was seeing 75 psi and even higher at redline. Now it see about 30 max. I had it sent back and redone right when I got it and it didn't make a big differnce expect now it doesn't leak into my exhaust like before. I think a better return line would help for me.
