Turbo Kit for $2500 or Custom Setup?
Hello,
I have $2500 to spend on turbo setup.. I can order Rev Hard Stage 2 turbo kit from here: http://www.turbo-kits.com/del_sol_turbo_kits.html
Kit is good because it comes with a boost dependent FMU that adds additional fuel pressure when the turbo spools... and I will not need to tune
my ECU...
Or Buy parts and build custom setup.. which I think is better.. But the problem is I can't tune my car here in Republic of Georgia.. No one does tuning here.. So I don't know what to do..
What do you guys recommend? My car is 1993 del sol d16z6.

Do a custom set-up, for the $2500 you can get much nicer products for the same price. You can peice together a nice turbo kit for under 2k, but that requires patience and time. So if your in a hurry, buy the kit, but I would recommend the peakboost kit. It's the best kit offered in my opinion.

i would tune the ecu anyway and run with bigger injectors... fmu is old scool and there are much better solutions... it will work for low boost levels but i wouldn't use it anyway...

I would go with the custome. Reason is; I got my Rev Hard for $2500 and a year later I upgraded everything except that charge pipe.

Re: (srg)
I was thinking for close to that price you could get a peak boost kit. That kit has some good quality parts.

Re:
What are the usual budget parts...
dsm 450cc injectors + clips + resistor box (Or bigger injectors if needed)
walbro 255 l/h fuel pump, high pressure
t3/t4 turbo (choose size)
cc-fab ramhorn manifold, 3" dp
dsm 1g BOV, crushed if higher boost
Used tial 38mm wg
obd1 socketed ECU + obd1 conversion harness + CROME or Uberdata
IC + oil lines + other = cheap...
No one does tuning there? Damn...that blows...you could learn to street-tune yourself I guess...
