turbo jdm b18c type r
i was wondering if anyone here knows how much power can the stock b18c rods can handle on boost? and how much compression can i lower by using a cometic headgasket? what thickness should i use? i know its going to need a good tuning but im only looking to boost 8psi on jrsc setup

If you're not going to do it right, then don't do it. OEM piston rings and rods are too weak to handle boost. One spike on 11:1 compression will blow your engine (I know this by experience)

well you may of had a bad experience but thats is def not the case. Stock b18c with a good setup/fuel and a good tune is good for 300-350 safely for daily driving on pump gasoline. I have a b18c gt3076r 100% stock internals 340+ whp tuned last summer. Make sure yo get the right stuff and tuner. set your car up with a boost cut and conservative tune.

^Whatever ...do what you like...I'm just saying, boost on 11:1 on stock parts is a bad idea. You're going to have to have a very experienced tuner who's done this before, and even so there is little room for mistakes.

Re: turbo jdm b18c type r
This thread is all screwed up...the title says "turbo" jdm b18c type r, and yet you're talking about JRSC?? Is this even a real JDM engine or just a JDM head cover and wishful thinking??

Re: turbo jdm b18c type r
My bad on the title it was suppose to be Jackson racing supercharger but I was in a hurry because I was using a hospital lobby computer. And yes I believe it is a real jdm b18c type r motor at least when I bought it that's what they said. Behind the block is a p72 Stamp on the block"?" maybe jdm type r and jdm Gsr share the same block but the head says pr3-2 type r right? P73 intake manifold and s80 LSD tranny so I believe it is a type r. I just want to jrsc that thing and see how much power I can make for daily drivng and weekend track car. I don't really care too much about what my time will be because our local track here does bracket styles mainly and time trial the first 3hours. Thanks any info will help

Most JRSC kits do about 230-250hp to the wheels on the 8psi kits. The issue isn't even if it is necessary to drop compression. (JRSCs need some static compression in order to respond well, since it is crank driven and has a linear powerband contrary to popular belief).
The one thing you need to ask yourself with the compression is if you have enough to get the cooling and engine management to work with this. An SAFC would be a waste of time with type of platform for what you're trying to.

if you have not already done so, i would do a compression check to make sure your at what you think and leak down just to check the condition before you run fi on11:1 motor .
just som
