Turbo ITR on its way to Boost!
Hey Guys just dropped off the ITR for a turbo job. I was so excited to see all the great parts I got. I went with a custom kit, so I pieced it together with the parts I wanted. I will have pics up in 2 days, when I get the car back. I want to thank all the people of this forum that have shared their knowledge. If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't have even though about turning my ITR to the darkside. Here is a rundown of what I got:
.50A/R T3/T4 Turbo
SFP Custom Manifold
Slim line Cooling fan
Custom DP 2.5"
Custom IC Piping
Spearco Front Mount IC
Tial Wastgate
Vortech FMU
RC 310 CC Inj.
Turbonettics IC Connectors
Blitz DD BOV
New Ex. gaskets
Greddy Boost Gauge
Greddy EGT gauge
Instrument bezel
All SS Oil lines and return lines...
walbro 255lph fuel pump
NGK plugs
Missing link
Hayame adjustable cam gears
greddy turbo timer
Pics up soon.
also look in the classifieds this weekend. I'll have some stuff I'll be selling if interested.

sounds good.
No inline pro headgasket? NO hondata or aem?
NO forged internals? No exhaust? boost controller?
Did you forget to list some things? I'm not trying to bust *****

Re: Turbo ITR on its way to Boost! (FAST94GSR)
Boost controller is not needed...as long as your wastegate alows no more then 6-8psi.
Ive been told over and over again to not run an in-tank fuel pump until you have a standalone ECU. Maybe you should get an inline fuel pump before you crank it.
Im running stock internals as well, stock compression but I do have the J&S to retard timing if knock is detected. Do you have any such detection? If not you could be asking for trouble...cant just throw the kit and assume the car will just run with no probs. I would look into it.
Good luck! Glad to see another ITR owner going b00st!

Re: Turbo ITR on its way to Boost! (RATEDR)
all i have is the DRAG III kit w/ 310cc injectors, 255lph intank pump, missing link, 8:1fmu disk and the car runs good, stock motor, stock computer. it runs 13.5 at 5psi and 12.7 at 8psi so his set up wil be fine...just dont make a habit of boosting more than 6 psi too often, i have almost 3k on the turbo install and hopefully a lot more down the road.
good luck w/ the BOOSTED-R

Re: Turbo ITR on its way to Boost! (SpeedRacer00-667)
hey guys thanks for the replies. I am boosting 6psi, I have adjustable cam gears to dial out overlap and the VAFC to make sure I am getting enough fuel. I am saving for some pistons, rods, an FJO Wideband o2 and an AEM EMS.
Hope she can last until the rebuild......... I didnt get an ebc because I know what happens when people get boost greedy. tick tick tick booooooooooom!

-310's aren't going to cut it...I suggest you go larger.
-compression is too high...need to find some way of lowering it or your car will not last.
-For ITR's especially, I wouldn't manipulate fuel pressure to regulate the fuel. I would definately get a stand alone.
-no, you don't need a boost controller, but I suggest you do get one!
-.50 a/r is alright but you will top off quickly in an ITR
take it from me...do it right hte first time, or pay more later!

Re: Turbo ITR on its way to Boost! (MiraiZ)
I see you have DSM 440 injectors. I saw a link where a guy is selling 550s for like $270 shipped. He said they fit DSM's. any idea if they will fit Honda's?
here's the link

Re: Turbo ITR on its way to Boost! (RATEDR)
My DSM's weren't an exact fit...the overall thickness (the diameter) of the DSM's are a bit bigger, so you will either need to bore out the injector seals a bit, or use spacers like I did.
I would assume that the 550's would be the same. If they are an exact fit on DSM's, then I would think you can do the same...

Re: Turbo ITR on its way to Boost! (MiraiZ)
I second that... good job MiraiZ
Your going to need larger injectors as well as a better fuel system.. Running boost with a high compression engine would require percision tuning, such as standalones. But, it is not a necessity if unless you want to get more then a couple weeks to a couple months out of your turbo and motor. A larger exhaust wouldn't hurt too, but not necessary.
Like everyone says. Do it right the first time and you won't regret it
Good luck on your setup
