Default turbo installed with aqurium parts spliced on map sensor (why?)

I had this guy at the track tying out for a spot on my team and he developed a huge fuel leak (due to a crappy turbo install...his fuel rail wasnt tightened and the rail separted from his first two injectors destroying the o-rings bla, bla, bla) while I was fixing his fuel leak I was checking out his turbo setup and I noticed the crazy splice job on his map sensor, I took a closer look and they used tube splices from an aquirium company called tetra. my question is why? They did a realy slack job on the complete install...his fuel pump is zip tied to his intake manifold and he has vacum splices out of his ***! the craftmanship of this install has me questioning the purpose of this mod. any help would greatly be appreciated. check out the pics.http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpghttp://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D

those are 1 way valves that bleeds pressure so the MAP senor does not see boost and throw a code.

he can get a missing link and a vacuum box to make it look cleaner.
