Turbo I.D. anyone?
I know its a Garrett T3 .60AR Intake / .63AR Exhaust, But Is there anything else you can tell me about this Turbo? Is there a way to Tell what Trim it is?
I'm hoping this will get me 250-300whp out of my B16A...im sure i will upgrade later but i picked it up cheap

i'd put money on it that it was from a ford SVO. If so, then it is a 60 trim turbo. I used to have the same turbo on my B16A3... now I have the .48 exhaust housing which is a hell of a lot of fun on the street with full boost (10psi) @ 3K.

Well before any tuning on a crappy basemap, IC pipes that kept blowing off before redline, AFR's so damned lean I am lucky I made it off the dyno, the Vtec activation point being waaaay off, and the motor insanely hot from teh 2 hours of driving in stop and go traffic to get there, I made 173whp/160tq @ 10PSI. Dont take this as an example of the power u can make with this turbo, just about everything was fawked with my setup as far as tuning. Also, that bigger exhaust housing is good, keep it! I wish I woulda never switched to the .48 even tho its insta-boost, I miss the top end. Here is the dyno sheet:

I never got to use the .63 exhaust turbo, I sold it in desperate need for money before I finsihed the whole setup, then picked up my .48 for cheap. The specs for the 173/160 numbers:
Engine/Transmission
- B16A3 Engine Swap
- GSR Transmission
- ACT 6 Puck Clutch
- Xtreme Pressure Plate
- 11lb Lightened OEM Flywheel
- 2.5" Aluminum Radiator
Turbo
- RevHard Cast Mani
- Spoolin Performance 3" Downpipe
- Thermal 2.2" Exhaust
- T3 63/48/60 Trim Turbo
- 29x8x2.75 Custom IC
- Tial 35mm WG
- 2.25" Charge Piping
- TurboXS RFL BOV
- RC 550cc Injectors
- Walbro 255lph HP Fuel Pump
- Crome UNTuned Chiped P30 w/Datalogging

correct answer, you get a prize.
it's a .60/.63 off a ford 84-86 mustang svo/83-86 thunderbird turbocoupe/83-85 GT350 mustang. It is off a manual transmission car. If it was a .60/.48 trim then it would have been from an automatic version of the ford 2.3turbo engine most likely from a thunderbird turbocoupe. There's also an IHI version of both (which sucks ***) that was only and exclusively available on the 87-88 turbocoupes.
both turbos are good to about 22psi with the .48 unit spooling slightly faster yet running out of steam on the top end sooner than the .63 unit.
class is dismissed, have a nice day.
