Default Turbo Horsepower Question

Ok, I got my Fmax/Hondata up and running well now. No oil leaks; I don't think any significant exhaust leaks.

I have it dyno tuned to at least 8psi and have fuel and timing mapped to about 10psi before its gonna cut fuel since we aborted further tuning when I sprang the turbo oil leak last month.

I'm getting great boost which hold steady and I'm wanting to get back to a dyno to continue fine tuning.

I'm wondering if I'm getting all the horsepower I should be. Should my tires be busting loose from the road at 8psi in a GSR if everything is ok? I'm getting great pull but not the kind of traction losing pull I was hoping for. Maybe at 8psi I shouldn't expect that?

I would think at 8 PSI you should break em loose, I Remember some people saying they were breaking loose at 6PSI.

Define "breaking them loose". Wheel spin after launching... from a roll? Entire loss of traction or just squeeling?

any loss of traction especially once rolling and turbo engages at WOT

If you've dyno tuned it then you've got the torque and hp figures. So how much power are you making? That would be a lot easier to compare to know if you're tuned well than something subjective like whether you break the tires loose.

i was getting about 210HP at 8psi but i am sure its more now.
at 6psi it was about 200HP
the turbo was not working well then and was leaking oil and had play in the shaft.

i will try to dyno again soon and retune to at least 10-12psi when i do. My steering is hard to control once i hit high boost and get into vtec (set at 5800 now).

tires are coopers i think in the fronts right now. a bit sticky but not very

Why is your vtec point so high?

when set at stock there was a huge power dip at the vtec crossover (4800RPM). That was fixed by raising it to 5800 so now the power curve is straight without the dip.
