turbo+high mileage d series question...
I am thinking about strapping a sc6152e on my d15 with over 300k on it that runs perfect and leaks and burns no oil. The engine is always well maintained, and I have a random turbo set up sitting around, if I strapped it to my engine and ran about 8psi would it be safe? Atleast for a couple months? I was saving it to throw on a k24, but that wont be for a while, so why not throw it on the d15 for shits and giggles, and if it blows later on just swap in a d16, and if it lasts long enough just throw the k24 in...
the main question is is it worth it to throw a turbo on a 300k+ engine and run low boost? |

You should "just throw" your plans out the window.

the guys above me are right its not going to last long with those miles. Then again you have to think to yourself, a d series is only couple hundred then just throw in a 1.6 like you said. A friend of my is doing something similar just boosting the shit out of his 1.5 till it blows then throwing his 1.6 in.

yes a d series is pretty damn cheap, if it pops i'd just "throw" another in. i remember why i dont post on here very much, thanks for reminding me. |

I boosted my stock a6 in my awd wagon at 186k. It blew up at 222k.
Totally worth it. |

it's usually the elitists that are negative, just because i cant afford to build a crazy engine doesn't mean i'm a fool when it comes to engines, i just wanted to see if anyone knew how strong a d series with high miles can be and what it can take |
