Re: Turbo on a high milage car (97CivicFerio)
Yeah, my motor is in A+ condition. It is also a matter of putting the right components on the car to go with the turbo. The quality parts always last longer than the money you saved on crap.

I so believe that. I would rather spend more money now and have a long lasting item than spend more to replace a crappy item.

Re: Turbo on a high milage car (On Point EK)
I put my turbo in at 115K miles. Too bad right now at 118K miles I had to take it apart cuz I spun a rod bearing.

Re: Turbo on a high milage car (shamoo)
I have 87,xxx miles on my car right now. I would like to have a turbo on it by 90,000. What are some parts that should be replaced before the turbo?
Head Gasket?
Timing belt?
water pump?
Anything else?

Re: Turbo on a high milage car (BLK94RS)
I had my timing belt and water pump done at 101K miles. Now I sit near 105K, and the turbo will be going on here in a couple months. For your mileage I think just have it checked over and replace things if they need it, otherwise GTG.

Listen for any unusual noises. Do a valve clearance adjustment. Compression check or better yet, leak-down test. If anything is even remotely fishy, the turbo will just accelerate the death of the engine.
