Default turbo exhaust set up??

hey, i'm sorry if this topic has been beat to death... but i'm going to ask you guys anyway! hehe. I want a pretty quiet muffler, so i was thinking about getting one with a 3" inlet, in preparation for my turbo to be. I prefer to have a single inlet, dual outlet muffler so that i can keep it really stock looking. I think my main options are:

1) edelbrock rpm http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/rpm_general2.html (part number 5508)
2) dynomax super turbo http://www.a-1performance.com/super_...lers/index.htm (part number 17740)
3) magnaflow http://www.exhaustproslinc.com/mag5x8stainm.html (part number 14228)

i was leaning towards the magnaflow because its cheaper than the edelbrock. so my question is.. do any of you know how loud these mufflers are? any other suggestions? thanks!

oh yeah, i have a resonator right after the cat, so that'll help quiet things down a bit... eventually i plan on replacing all of the piping with 3" pipe.. but i figured that i can save myself a step and just do the muffler for now.

3" and quiet...no such thing. You must pick the least loudest. I have a straight through 3" exhaust. 2 Magnaflows, one as a resonator and one as a muffler. It's not loud outside the car at all. But resonates in the cabin area.

I LOOOOVE my 3" Thermal.. It's not too loud, but can definitely be heard when you get on it. It's got a nice deep tone, I'd describe as fartcan as a domestic lover, but it's A LOT better than the usual N-1 screaming heebeejeebee's sound on the N/A cars.

BTW, 3" exhaust on NON turbo cars is STUPID loud and obnoxious. The turbo mellows it out alot. I just wonder how it'd sound with a resonator or two in the straight parts of the piping...

would it really be that loud? I don't really understand why. it can't be louder than my current set up.. right? i have one resonator after the cat, and a canister style muffler (5zigen style) at the end. its real small, and barely muffles anything...

i'd think that despite the larger diameter piping, that the WAY bigger muffler would give the exhaust sound waves way more time to cancel each other out.... am i wrong? thanks for the input !!!

The longer the muffler and resonator the better. Don't know if you meant that when you said bigger.

yes, that's what i meant. the magnaflow muffler is 18 inches long, while my current canister style one is way shorter, probably about 14 inches... any other thoughts anyone?
