Turbo that dont need oil? Comp Turbo.
Anybody seen or tested the new Comp Turbos that dont use oil lines???
All this new turbo tech is getting crazy, first billet wheels, then the BW EFR and now this no oil turbo from comp? Plus it uses a triple ball bearing set up w aluminum bearing housings, wtf!!!
I used the triple bb billet wheel comp turbos and love them, they hit like a hammer, spool quick and hold power to redline no matter what but now no oil lines needed?? This is game changing for manifold design!!
Im dieing to see tests!!!

Its an interesting idea, but I would like to see how the lubrication really holds up under extreme heat. I would also be interested to know the cost of replacing said lubrication. I would also like to know if Comp Turbo would allow their customers to regrease the bearings themselves, or if they require the CHRA to be sent in. If its the latter, it would add to the cost and require down time of the car.
I can see the benefit being without using motor oil, starts and stops wouldnt be a problem. Also driving hard wouldnt require frequent oil changes.

Nice! This will be interesting to see. I think, if they work in the aviation industry, they should work great with the auto as well.

Word I want more info on these. I know formula1 uses ceramic ball bearings for wheel bearings so they gotta be good. Anyone have experience on a honda?
