Default Turbo done...couple Q's

Finally, after 9 days of working on and off on the turbo install it's done. Talk about a whole new car I can't even believe how awesome the car is now, and I only went to about 70% throttle the whole time driving during the maiden voyage .

Anyways, I have a couple questions to add The car is running a little lean first off. I added more fuel pressure but haven't tested to see if that helps. Would re-gapping the plugs help at all? Currently they are gapped at .031, that is, I aligned them on the center of the plug tip on .031. And my EGT temps are running at about ~1000F-1200F during cruising and go just a tad higher under boost. Off throttle they will drop to around 800 or so. I know there is lots of posts on this already so I will search here in a second, but I thought I'd throw that out there. That's all for now, I couldn't have done this without honda-tech.com, I've learned so much from just being on this board And now for the pics...

These pics kinda suck, they were taken at like 3am this morning, hehe. I will try to get some better ones today.

Yep, Maxrev turbo kit courtesy of Kyle (2k_teg). I got it when it was on the name your own turbo kit deal. I'll post the rest of the stuff later...Anyone got any suggestions for my questions? Thanks!

Yea it does hang below the bumper, about 1". Kinda sucks Just gotta be sure to drive more carefully, which is hard around here w/ the crappy roads we have. I have it covered pretty well though with the plastic stuff that hangs down from the bumper, helps protect it too...

By the way your wasgate is angled if you don't get a dump tube soon whatever is wrapping your A/C line will melt off, trust me First the zip ties then that covering.... my friend learned this the hard way, only benifit is he gets to rip out his non-working A/C and reap the benifits of it, less weight, and room for a tubular manifold and more space in the bay for other goodies

I stripped the manifold with Jasco aircraft grade paint stripper Not too hard to do and it looks ok, nice silver mat finish.

My wastegate dumptube is in the mail, should be here any day. The shielding over my AC lines is a fire retardant fire sleeve. It won't melt, well it does a tiny bit cause I have it on the line that goes straight down between the fans too. My compressor hits it and it was smoking when I first started it, but nothing now and it's still there in good shape, haha. The zip ties on the other hand might not last long...I'm not driving it much though until I get it tuned, it's running a bit lean as it is right now and I don't feel too confident boosting that much.

to fix that low IC you could cut a bit of the bumper support off and raise the IC a bit.

when you get your dumptube your going to have to chop it and attach a flex pipe. the maxrev dump tube wont line up right...

very nice.

Cut the bumper support? That would be a major pain in the *** wouldn't it? Not to mention it would be bad for the car structurally? I think I may sell the Maxrev intercooler and buy a different one that has the dimensions I want.

Hmm, I was kinda hoping the dumptube would work without modification. I may just take it to my friends welder (that did my intercooler piping) sometime and have him fix it up for me
