Default Turbo Civics (96-00) Charge Pipe Help!

i finally got my car boosted, and now i im concerned about my charge pipes from the turbo to the intercooler. it hangs about a inch lower than the bumper is. the windshield whiper fluid resevior is in the way. has anyone else had this problem? any pictures of what your charge pipes look like? im thinking of even moving the resevior, but i dont know where i would put it. here is some pictures of how mine looks now (no bumper on yet) i will take some tomorrow. thanks guys for the help/.

Just take out the windshield washer fluid resevior. Thats what we ended up doing on my friends car. That was the only way we could get around it. Sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear

A lot of people can just loosen the bolts on the reservoir and move it up to the point where its enough.
If thats not enough....relocate it or try a smaller reservoir

If you really want to keep it then just relocate it somewhere or maybe even just raise it.

What did you do about your IAT? I went with a skunk2 IM that uses the z6 style IAT...

IAT, is that the part that is on the y7 that plugs into the air box? (i wasnt the brains of my turbo operation ) its just hanging in my engine bay now, no check engine light.

My piping never touched my wind. washer reservoir.

Then again, that's probably why my piping scrapes occasionally.

make the piping on the hot side shorter. have it go around the front toe hook. i used 2.25 mandrel bend piping, worked fine.

I thought you had a y8

On the y8 (not sure on the y7) the IAT goes into the intake tube, near the throttle body. This was a change from the z6 that had the IAT bolted on the side of the IM. My IAT has been hanging for some time, but now with turbo and a auto to manual conversion, I need to change my IACV from a three wire to a two wire. To do that, I have to change the IM...

Cool thing is, I picked up a skunk2 IM brand new for $210 shipped. Also, I can sell my IM to you y7 guys because it is from an auto, and has the three wire IACV you need...

see if you can have the 180 bend before the reservoir and tow hook, as someone already suggested

looks like a 00 front, im guessing there different, my bottle is like a 2 liter of soda

EDIT: looked at it again, looks the same. im wondering if it is the way my turbo is clocked. if it shoots more downward maybe it could possibily not hit the resevior? Rmcdaniels, any more pics from the turbo to the intercooler?

I can't find any, but my compressor outlet was aimed straight down, then a 90 degree elbow to the side, then two more 90 degree elbows do go under the washer tank. Mine actually just went under the front corner of the tank, I had to keep expanding the hole in the plastic forward until it was as far forward as I could go and it was an oval because the pipe came through it at an angle so just part of the bend was tucked under one corner of the tank. Then I tied it up to a metal piece with a bunch of big zip-ties to keep it snug under the tank so it didn't hang down.

edit - Looking back at your picture, your pipe comes out way too far under the tank. It should fit if it just barely sticks out enough for part of the bend to go under the corner of the tank.

Just rip that resevoir out. The windsheild washer fluid is useless anyways. I live in the PNW and it rains constantly and I never used it.

Yo you should definately get a y8 intake manifold, I'm doing a y8 head swap soon on my y7 and I already put on the y8 intake manifold.

It flows sooooo much better than the y7 one, even on the stock y7 engine I could feel the increase. I can't even imagine what it will do for a turbo!

Anyway what engine mods do you have other than the turbo?

I can't tell if yours is a coupe or not...
There are different resevoir sizes depending on trim.
For the hatchbacks, the DX has a 2.5 liter while the others have a 4.5 liter.
All USDM coupes and sedans have a 2.5 liter resevoir.
The SI's looks much smaller in the pic above so I'm assuming you have the 4.5 liter.

Info is from Helm manual.

Edit: Just read your sig and it says 98 hatch.

i have a ex/si trans (worth its weight in gold!), thats about it
i really want to do the y8 manifold, even maybe a mini-me, but i gotta find it first i really would love to get that manifold, i feel my turbo choking up around 5k, i dont know if its because of the manifold, maybe a vacuum leak, but i really think its because the head/mani dont flow too well. thanks, any ideas for my setup?

for those wondering, im going to rip the resevior out tomorrow

rip it out and swap the 2.5 in there unless you dont really need windshield fluid.
