Default turbo build b16a

ok guys trying to see what ppl opinions are. trying to build a b16a so far i have brian crower stage 2 na cams, supertech valve train(black nitrate dish) port match b16a head with skunk2 intake and 70 mm throttle body, acl main rod and thrust bearings, arp head studs and main studs, msd ignition, walbro 255, cometic head gasket, aem fpr and rail, and turboxs dual manuel boost controller now i want to keep stock bore i currently have a 57 trim turbo i wanna make around 300-350 street but when i go to track bump it up to 400-500hp so i want to know what piston and rods to use and what compression to finish my build i have looked at the cp pistion 9:1 but is that too low and is using this setup get me to where i want (will be having lo cash tune it once i have evrything finished)

Start off by throwing away the MSD ignition. OEM is perfectly capable of those power levels, and will do it better, and more reliably than MSD garbage will.

The answer to your rods and pistons question is simple - forged. Eagle, Carillo, Wiseco, CP, Supertech, Pauter, there's a handful of good names out there for you to use. Stock compression is 10.2:1 or 10.4:1, depending on which version of the B16A you have. There's nothing wrong with running a 9:1 forged rotating assembly, but keep in mind that you'll lose a small chunk of torque. I'm personally building a B18B1 for 350-400 on pump gas, using Wiseco 9.4:1 pistons and Eagle rods. With a good tune, you should be able to safely see 350 with forged internals on pump gas, but I would not push the stock sleeves past 400, even on race gas.

so should i be looking at like 9.5: or even 10:1 compression. i researched alot on pistons and i like the cp just from what i have read. just more less looking at too see what kind of compression i should run. i would like to run 11 at the track for when i do take it out there but will be doing some scca with as well here and there

With today's fuel and tuning options, there is no reason to drop below 10:1, especially considering your goals...building it isn't a bad idea, but again, for your goals, it may not be necessary. Stock block B series engines will handle 300-350whp all day
