Turbo B16: Normal coolant and IAT temp?
I have a stock dual core radiator on a bone stock B16A w/ a Garret 57trim/63 A/R and did a few pulls while datalogging on my S300. I got a boost cut & a CEL because my engine was beginning to overheat a little (never went past the middle section) after boosting about 3.5psi and today was a bit on the warm side. My question is this... what is considered the normal water (coolant) and Intake operating temperature on a B16A? My display indicated while cruising that my water temp was at 202* and after doing about 3 or 4 pulls it went up to 208*. My downpipe is close to my radiator and I'll be wrapping it tonight or tomorrow sometime. I also have my license plate on the middle of the bumper too. Could that be contributing to this? Is this what everyone calls "heat soak"? This is my first boosted car so I'm learning...
