find extra trannies. yours is gonna break fast. or source a heavy duty torque converter.

Yeah. What he said.

However, if you don't push the car often it may last longer. I'm throwing out my second auto tranny at this moment, but this time I'm also doing a 5-speed swap since I now have all the parts. I also made 217HP and a little under 200TQ with an auto B18B.

Not true. I had my sohc auto coupe turbo for over a year. I ran 10psi. Stock torque converter and all. Torque breaking it to about 3k-4k rpm off the line and the tranny held together the entire time. The motor was pulled and given to another member of this board and still runs fine as of last I heard. The tranny can hold.

i've had my civic on boost for about a year on auto tranny it is showing signs of wear. i am looking for a five speed right now to swap it out. u can do it but don't be hard on the car or else the tranny will die in a couple of months.

what do u mean by hard?? i wont be gassing all the way...and also, what happens if i gas it all the way and let go of gas for it to shift ??

another q is what if i am going 30mph and i shift it down to neutral?? would that do anything, because i do that now so that the tranny wont keep shifting down the gears..

I have a turboed LS on 10psi and I had the turbo on the car for 6 months and it started slipping in about four and once 6 months came around it was garbage. So I did a 5 speed converstion and also made a increase of 22whp. So, i been threw that and I will never turbo another honda automatic. Plus its funner to drive.

get a trans cooler. That will help with the durability of the tranny. I have 40k turbo miles on an auto civic ex. The tranny has held up fine.

torque convertor wont make the tranny itself stronger.
I ran for 6k miles turbo automatic @ .6bar(8.5ish psi) and it was doing well. I just took it easy under normal driving, letting off between shifts. However, it did begin to show signs of slippage and probably wouldve been in need of a replacement in a year or so.

But if you plan on staying automatic for a long time then keep a spare tranny onhand, if not I would start gathering parts for a tranny swap.

this is true. i don't punch the gas all of the time, but i do let off when the tranny shifts. mine is starting to show signs of wear. the car has a total of 5 track runs and about 30k miles. a good idea would be to swap the tranny.
