Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!!

So... After ALOT of reading on here...I have decided to make my first post. I bought a 1994 Accord EX about 6 months ago, and have been making upgrades to make sure that it stops, turns, and handles well. Other Mods are to the Exhaust and intake, but even with the mods I've made... I WANT MORE!!! I used to run a 73 Dart sport (yes Dart) back in like 1990 that ran 10.30s with the help of a 200 shot of giggle gas A REAL NOS kit!!! Back in the day it waS NOS OR COMPUCAR...Anyways...So I know what it feels like to go fast, but I am pretty green at this import thing.

A few friends of mine have tried to talk me into doing a H-22 swap, but honestly: I lust the idea of turboing my baby --- A few weeks ago -- after a few MONTHS of reading everything I could find about turboing the f22....I have I made a firm decision...BOOST it will be!!! What I am interested in is what you guys think about my setup. Any help will be appreciated!!! The engine is a f22b1 (SOHC Vtec)-stock internals, 130,000 miles w/5 spd. The motor runs like a top, no smoke, not 1 leak (yet), Good comp. Doesn't burn oil...etc.

So far I have aquired:

AEM fuel rail
Aem Pressure regulator
DSM 450cc injectors
Ground wire kit
9MM Plug wires
30x7x3" bar and plate intercooler

Just bought a T3/T4 Turbo A/R 50 57 Turbo

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3A11

I am using a custom Log manifold that allows me to keep my AC (Hey, Im old aiight???) Constructing (or looking to buy) charge piping 2-2.5"? & Downpipe (2.5-3")

Didnt go witth the s-300, going Neptune tuned by Speedline in Tacoma,WA
My questions are:

1.can I use the p 28 ECU (For Neptune) with my stock accord (OBD1) harness w/o any adapters?

2. Anyone got Accord charge piping for sale???

5. Is a daily drivable 250 WHP on 92 octane fuel scenario unrealistic??? Ive seen a bunch of people who claim that it is completely doable...

Is there anything I am missing?? I didnt want to get flambe'd so I hope that my researced kit sounds good to you guys...I would like to get it done in the next 6 weeks or so!!!

Thanks!

250whp isn't shit......of course you can drive that daily - shit you can travel across states daily with that little power.

Get an h22 and get some real power.........

He just said he doesn't want an H22.

To the poster, I would go with a T3 probably around .48-.53 AR

naaa that would be your first mistake, go with something big that has more potential for the future. everyone ends up craving more boost in the future so save yourself the time and money of buying another turbo later and just put up with a little more lag until you decide that 250whp aint shit.

i say sc-61 https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

redzcstandardhatch 09-23-2005 12:17 PM

a nicely pieced together setup could make plenty of power.

yes, the hondata system will plug in and run you car fine -you have to have an authorized tuner tune the car for you though.

also, look into uberdata or chrome for DIY engine managment.

setting up a f series turbo shouldnt be too difficult for you. personally, i think a precision sc34 would be nearly ideal, or a nice garrett gt series ball bearing...gt2871 or something.

depends on how much money you wanna chuck at this thing. but those engines can huff power out reliably.

bubs 09-23-2005 12:21 PM

I'd have to agree on a bigger turbo.. You'll have to run some pretty high boost levels on a small turbo to get 250whp.

Stay away from the ss-autochrome turbos. They've been known to fall apart.

3. Can I just hook up the DSM injectors without any other mods (ie the resistor box), so that I can install all of the fuel mods I have now - will this affect drivability???
</TD></TR></TABLE>
no - you need the resistor box (doesn't a 94 accord have a resistor box stock? pretty sure those are P&H injectors until 1996) and you can't run bigger injectors on your stock ECU, they'll provide way too much fuel.

so i can just hook up the injectors to the wires already there??? COOL! Keep the advice comin...Its helping alot- Thanks Ill wait to install the injectors till i get the hondata in it. but i think ima put in the fueal rail and regulator this weekend.

notoriousB 09-23-2005 02:12 PM

Re: Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!! (bigdaddyvtec)

you should be able to just wire those injectors in and be all set BUT double check - check resistance across the two injector terminals, should only be like 3 ohms if they're peak & hold. rail & regulator are no problem.

Ya, it has the resistor box in it. No other input about any of the rest of the setup from anyone huh??? Shit. Someone above was sayin how 250 whp wasnt shit, but if i could get like 275-300, run it on pump gas, and not melt it...Id be happy as hell. Thats like over 2x it came with. Id be cool...High 13s maybe????? I know how to drive (on the track).

I found a .42/.48 AR T3 im gonna use on the car. An XS power W/G and BOV Trying to get ahold of spoolin to bus' me out a mani........ its comin along...its comin along.... Stay tuned.... if you care....LOL

Re: Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!! (bigdaddyvtec)

the cast log style manifolds will also allow you to keep your ac. turbo will allow you to take off the kit later on if you decide to sell your car with the stock motor. You know where the turbo kit has been if it is brand new. purchasing a h22a can sometimes be tricky. Don't know exact mileage (people always claim to have 30-40k miles on a 10 year old motor)

Don't expect 100+ hp from the kit w/ stock internals. Only draw back about having a turbo vehicle is maintaining it. Don't "ABUSE" the BOOST! Leave it at 5-7 psi on daily driving and you should be fine.

Majority of the technical problems is from the end user.

Good luck on your kit! We have complete kit that retain the AC if you're interested.

i ran 13.60 with 215whp on a full interior'ed 99si w/spare and subs. 300whp is good for 12.30's to 12.70's with good 60 ft's and shifts, hell of a lot faster with a hatch and lsd

Shit All I want out of it is a high 13 second car....doable with the T-3 .42/.48 and all the shit i mentioned above on say 5-8 PSI i was thinking....

There she is...soon to be booooooooosted yeeeeahhhhh!!!!

You may wanna look at this post before you decide on your engine management, i am in no way agreeing or disagreeing with the post so dont get mad at me hondata lovers, i am going to trust my $ and engine to Neptune https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

found a T3/T4 Turbo A/R 50 ; 57 , but i need to rotate the compressor housing so it is in a L configuration instead of like an I (straight through)..Is this a problem. Its BRAND NEW and i got it for 200

notoriousB 10-03-2005 10:32 AM

Re: Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!! (bigdaddyvtec)

no problem - just loosen the bolts on both housings and rotate it. each side will rotate independently. it's called "clocking" the turbo (just FYI). make sure your oil feed & drain are still as vertical as possible afterward.

Re: Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!! (bigdaddyvtec)

to get 250 or more out of the f22 your going to have to run a t3/t4 and over 12psi of boost. Also your will probably be making more tq than hp the f22's do that. Since its stock i would do 10 psi probably at most but fully tunned if its a good tune u might be able to get like 12 psi after that your pushing it, the stock sleeves can take the boost all day but not the internals.

Nonsteezy 10-04-2005 03:48 PM

Re: Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!! (Nonsteezy)

Oh yea i have a 96 accord coupe boosted, same engine as u so if u have any questions hit me up

booja 10-04-2005 07:12 PM

i knew someone that made 260 something whp on 14psi all stock internals...

f22's have some low ass compression

i too have a boosted accord.... h22 though

bigdaddyvtec 10-04-2005 10:38 PM

Re: (booja)

ya man im really happy with all of the help im getting. im interested in yer setup..+pics??? what fuel system mods / intternal mods / EMS etc.... hp/tq numbers??? i have a friend thats getting 220 whp and 230 tq on 9 psi with a t3/t4. hes a pussy though and wont run it at the track...wondering what kinda times- hoping for 13s.

id be 1 happy fucker!!

1.can I use the p 28 ECU (For the s-300 Hondata) with my stock accord harness?

2. Are the SS autochrome turbos any good at all, or should i look for a straight garrett? Considering a t3/4 .48 A/R, but this is an area in which I need some help. I need a turbo. I have $$$!

3. Can I just hook up the DSM injectors without any other mods (ie the resistor box), so that I can install all of the fuel mods I have now - will this affect drivability???

1. Yes
2. SSautocrap is no good. Garret T3 Super 60 or Garret t3/to4e .60/.63ar are popular with F22s.
3. 5th gen Accord already have a resistor box, DSM 450s will drop right in after trimming the clips a little and boring the seals out.
4. Ask around in the regional forums.
5. Yes, for the the track but i wouldnt run it daily that high

Re: Turbo Accord KIT... screw the H-22!!! (bigdaddyvtec)

A better fuel pump would be a good idea. Also you could buy forged pistons and then you would be able to crank up the boost. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

The 13.6 had to be in an N/A civic... no way in hell would it run that b00sted putting down only 215 whp. You gotta remember Accords are A LOT heavier than any civic. 250 whp with a good driver should put you low 14's https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Still fast for an Accord https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif
