turbo 99 si ?? head gasket or not?
got a quick question?
what would make more power?
stock b16a2, revhard stage 2 kit, @8 psi with stock compresion ??
or
stockb16a2, revhard stage 2 kit, @ 10 psi with 1 mm or 2mm headgasket??
anyone got any dyno charts or real life experiance in this "instance"??

Re: turbo 99 si ?? head gasket or not? (2.2Lcivic)
The engine with the thicker headgasket will make more power. The static compression of the engine doesnt really mean that much when you are lowering it by one point. At 10psi, the turbo will be in its efficiency range before the 8psi (assuming its a 54 trim) thereby making more power due to lower outlet temps from the turbo. In most cases, the lower compression is better for getting the turbo's into their efficiency ranges (larger trim sizes) if pump gas is going to be the main source of fuel the engine is going to be tuned around.

Re: turbo 99 si ?? head gasket or not? (boosted hybrid)
thanks boosted hybrid. just had this thought in my head for awhile. and had a "debate" with simike and jamison, i was thinking that the one with the headgasket and 10 psi would make more power but wasnt sure on it. im currently putting an inline pro head gasket and turbo setup on a 99 si for a customer of mine and had that thought. the turbo is t3/to4e .48 a/r.....the wheels are very cute....to say the least
