we have been converting a lot of cars from AEM to S300 lately.
the AEM is capable of a lot more, but 99.9% of people dont take advantage of any of the things that AEM offers that the S300 doesnt.

Plus add on the inconveniences of a stand alone (worse idle, longer to fine tune, more wiring bound to have a failure somewhere, etc etc).
Unless it's a pure drag car then go with the S300.

um.. ok, my tuner has no problems with any of that and whats this more wiring you speak of? there is the same wiring as an s300, you just need to run an iat and map, or just keep your stock ones oh wait, add a wideband too OMG SO MUCH WIRING!!! you must be thinking of something like haltech...

uh, whats the purpose of your post aside from clowning and who are you clowning?

Re: Tunning CHIPPED P28 or AEM EMS (Quickridez_3)
There is not too many out there who can fully dial in an AEM EMS... Half the people I get in here with AEM EMS that came from other tuners had maps only tuned for fuel, ignition and some small idle changes. Obviously, the car is going to start like ****, idle like **** and cruise like ****.
AEM gets a thumbs up from me on this one... Perfect system for a street car, with ability to set up fail safes for just about anything. The system is powerful, but it won't do any good without a tuner who knows how to use it.

OK I can agree with the idle part. Some cars I can get it to idle fine and some even with messing with all the voltage increments and small fuel increments I jsut can't get it too idle well (unless at 1100 rpm). Either way with an s300 it'll take less time to press out all the kinks in your system compared to an s300 (more time = more money). I know the AEM has A LOT more features, but it still takes more time. As far as the wiring goes I'm just following Murphy's law, if it can happen (because you adjusted it) it will happen.

Re: (adseguy)
Well if you read the instructions of the AEM before installing it, you may become somewhat familiar with the product. At least this way you can make sure your tuner dials in what you need. The more knowledgeable you are about your consumer products, the better you'll be in the end.
I had problems with going into neutral at a stop light and every now and then my car would stall. I took it back to the tuner (he didn't charge me for this) and he showed me how to change things up if this occurs in the future. Dyno testing is different than street testing. So we drove around for a few miles and he set everything up and it was fine until I took out the AEM with my turbo setup (more than a year) and it idled at 800-900 with 550cc injectors.
