Tuning AEM EMS w/o wideband?
Here is my situation, I allready have the AEM EMS and am planning to put it in my car next week.
My problem is that I dont have a wideband to tune with. I probably should have bought the wideband before the EMS but too late now.
I have the correct base map for my setup and I know I cant really drive my car with just the basemap.
Is there anyway to decently tune the car w/o the use of a wide band?
My setup:
B18C5
9.6:1 CR
DRAG kit
RC440
Walbro intank
AEM rail/reg
I am only planing to run 7lbs until I get used to the AEM EMS so my tune doesnt have to be perfect.
Any tips or sugestions would be great. (I dont want 100 posts saying that I should have bought the wideband first, I allready know this)
Thanks

look for some maps on the aem board that others have tuned.
then "mod" them to fit you.. ie add some more fuel just to be safe.

VOM on the primary sensor, shoot for .985ish volts @ WOT
but like you said, you really need a wideband..........................

You might be able to find a map that will run half way decent online, however, youd be risking it if you tried boosting on it.
Every turbo setup is different, people run different exhausts, turbos flow different, spool times differ, compression ratio.
unless you find a map w/ the same exact mods, I seriously wouldnt risk your motor.

Using the wideband makes it so easy to tune it right. I was able to fill in almost all the values after driving around for about an hour in my neighbood and service drives. All of the basemaps were way off for me since I was using larger injectors that didn't scale linearly. If money is an issue, buy an AEM wideband on your credit card for ~$425, then tune your car and resell it on honda-tech for $325 a month later.
