Yeah, and not just an FMU either. If you are looking for 300 whp on a d series, it will have to be done RIGHT or it won't last very long.

My sentiments, exactly...WTF do a boost controller and 'timer' have to do with tuning?
Seriously man, you are going to be running ~14-16psi to make that power, and if you don't have your ignition timing retarded, you WILL detonate. Also, you didn't mention a wideband, so you could only tune your car (safely) to be incredibly rich, and probably wouldn't make that power on that boost...

Alot of people have actually been making 250whp+ on stock D series blocks without problems. With good engine management though.

the only difference between the v-afc and the s-afc is that the v-afc controls vtec. S-afc is for cars without vtec. The timer does nothing. The boost controller will only raise your boost.
So to answer your question, no you couldnt just tune your car on a v-afc.

It sounds like you dont have much knowledge on turbo's and tuning. If i were in your shoes i would look toward getting hondata and going to a reputable tuner in your area to have your car tuned or if you have a good uberdata tuner in your area you can go that route to. 250whp can be had on a stock block, but it will need some very good tuning and good fuel delivery. I would be leary of doin this by yourself with uberdata and a wideband if you dont have prior tuning experience. It is easy to make expensive mistakes. Good luck with whatever your choice is.

People tend to get that way when you n00bs ask the same questions over and over and over again.
"Search and thou shalt find".

I would say that you have some research to do. Use the search button and search uberdata and anything you want to know. You can learn pretty quick around here, there is tons of good info. 250-300 definitley needs a good management, because you can't tune your car really well with the safc b/c of timing issues when you are on boost.
