Tuners, help me out. Boosted K20/Kpro acting up
I solved the issue myself, but i want to know if anybody else has experienced this or even seen it.
To start off, i am runnin a built K20Z1 in an EG hatch. Custom turbo kit with a precision sc6161 billet, tial BOV, tial gate, hondata electronic boost solenoid, precision 1000cc injectors, earls racing fuel filter... Ive been having this strange issue on and off for a while. Doing a pull, the car will build boost, and stutter randomly. When it stutters, the boost drops, then it will build full boost again. Sometimes it stutters once, sometimes multiple times durring a pull. Could not get it to do this on the dyno, only on the street. So i recorded the datalog of what was exactly going on when i was in a pull and during a stutter. Im attaching the datalog, but if it doesnt show up for whatever reason, ill try to explain what changes in the stutter.
supposed to be runnin on the wastegate spring, which is 13psi.
at the start of building boost data was:
4th gear
RPM- 4246
TPS- 44%
VSS- 68mph
ignition- 28 degrees
injector pulse width- 4.03ms
Right before the stutter occured
rpm-5567
tps-84%
vss-88mph
ignition- 18 degrees
injector pulse width-9.89ms
MAP- 12.9psi
during the stutter
rpm-5836
tps-87%
vss-92mph
ignition-24 degrees
injector pulse width- 7.74ms major spike on the graph...
MAP-7.2 psi
before and during are at WOT without letting out of it...
also, i noticed a change in my A/F
before stutter
it stayed between 11.4 and 11.5
then during the stutter, it leaned out and spiked between 12.8 and 12.98
This occurs randomly in any gear.
Since i couldnt figure this problem out, i did the following;
took apart, inspected, and rebuilt the BOV and wastegate
turbo was rebuilt twice due to other issues
inspected and cleaned the fuel filter
checked all the vacuum lines
checked all the intercooler couplers
checked the plugs
everything i inspected looked just fine.
like i said, i figured out why it was happening (i think), just want to see if anyone had seen something like this before i explain what i did to resolve it. Want to know if this is some sort of K pro safety feature....

all the plugs look the same?
you check each injector?
your a/f looks to decent to be the problem sounds like a ign failure
