Default Tune my car today, have a slight problem. drag manifold = bad?

i got my car tuned today and it put out about 265whp @ 10 psi. power. when we turned the boost up to 18lbs it was only making about 285whp because when its close to redline it would spike up to full boost. we looked at the graph and when boost kick in the power doesnt jump. the whole powerband look smooth when boost kicks in. we think its the drag manifold causing it not to hit full boost at around 5,000rpm becuz of the shitty wastegate location. anyone ever had this problem or think its something else causing it?

81.5mm endyn rw piston

I also went to the dyno today and I have a similar problem with the drag manifold... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=838904

yeah my problem is somewhat similiar to yours... but i was running a mbc. we set it to around 19lbs and it didnt hit full boost till close to redline... it was at low boost (around 10-14) till like mayb 7k rpm and then all of a sudden the boost started to climb up fast, by that time it was reading like 20lbs but it wasnt enough time for the turbo to spool up. drag manifold = what manifold are you getting now?

i tuned a lsvtec with a drag 3 manifold and tial 40mm @ 14.7 psi and made 341 whp. its not the best manifold out there but it shouldn't be holding you back like that.

well at least we gotta modify our down pipe... and i dont know why but the tuner said its the manifold because its reading off 1 runner and that the boost climbs slowly until its about 10lbs then shoots up fast and thats when its at a pretty high rpm and by that time its time to shift and the turbo couldnt spool up fast enough to really hit the high boost 19lbs

and the mbc is a turbonetics one and we never had any problems with those

could a long wastegate elbow cause this? the wastegate location is at #1 runner and my elbow extends past #4 runner and then its the wastegate, then theres a dump tube for it... can this cause it to do this? my turbo inlet is facing the driver side so i dont want the wastegate to dump on the same side

Well I dunno...Lawrence tuned my car too and I have the same manifold with a stock motor and I made 285/225 at 9psi. I think you may have some other issues.

it has to be something else besides your manifold. theres a guy on this board that made 293whp on a stock gsr on 10 psi (using uberdata) with a drag manifold.

Stock GSR motor. I have a 2.5"-3" downpipe, 3" Thermal exhaust, 550 injectors, S100b Hondata, Tial wastegate, and that's about all that's different from yours...

First, why don't you just try a different MBC? You're throwing the blame all over the place, and you might just need a new 50 dollar part.

There are quite a few out there that are better than the turbonetics ones.

on the base run i made 265whp @ 10psi... after getting tuned its about the same at the same psi but it pulls more consistently now and it feels a lot better... i think im gonna change out the manifold and maybe the wastegate and the boost controller... what do you guys think? think it will solve my problem?
