Default tuck radiator with ramhorn manifold, has anyone done this?

im looking for ways to get the ultimate cooling for my turbo teg. im not having water temp issues but i would like to invest, someday, into a full tuck radiator thatll support my ramhorn manifold. the main issue i see is the placement of my wastegate and it being in the way somewhat. but im curious if anyone else has done this, because i cant find anything with google search.

You'll actually cause more heat issues than preventing simply because you're trying to tuck a full sized radiator. The problem lies in the lack of distance between your radiator and air-to-air intercooler. Without proper distance of 3-5 inches between the two, you'll easily run into overheating problems due to the lack of exchange air that will occur from the radiator. The only other solution is to run air-to-water intercooler.

In Calidad's situation, he used a Full-sized radiator, but did not tuck the radiator using the large intercooler. But he was using a log and mini-ram styled manifold.

Lowlude22 used a full sized OEM radiator with a SP miniram manifold with a T04E compressor cover, that barely fits.. Even he now realizes its time to upgrade radiators, as he's running water cooling on his turbo as well.

So, what does this mean? It means that you need to make sure that even good quality half-sized dual core radiator will help with your situation more than a full-sized radiator on a turbo setup using a Kooks "Ramhorn" setup. Stick with Koyo, Fluidyne, C&R, etc, and although you'll spend a bit more, you'll get a LOT more in cooling temperatures than with what you're currently proposing.

Thanks for the reply.
I've been looking at koyo radiators for a while and I'll most likely be getting one of those in the future. I just need to get a bung fitted for my turbo. But when I replace my "go autoworks" radiator I want to cut it open to examine the internals. I'm thinking it's not a good quality radiator because it looks exactly like the $50 no name radiator. I have pics to prove it because I had them both at one time.

There's an easy adapter to fit the -6AN from turbo to the drain of the koyo.. no need for weld bung

Ok awesome, looking at it I was really starting to wonder it looks exactly like mine only different logo engraved in the top. Ill snag some measurements but its probably the exact same setup just re-branded. Thanks bud!

Nothing much but hope these picture give you an idea of the wastegate placement. It not mine but found these a few month back when I was planning to do the same thing.
